They have been offered as far as I remember in benefits section, why would it need a special advertisement? Based on what you claim that almost no one knows about it? The booking was and/or is possible only when the main passenger booked to C or D class, so money wise one ticket is much more expensive than two tickets in J or K with normal/promo price. Therefore, it is not worth for me personally.

There is no need for a special advertisement. I was just implying that most Elite and Elite Plus members which I had a discussion about M&S don't even know about this. Obviously, those people are mostly Elite and Elite Plus members in Turkey.
Within a couple of months, I would report back my ( future ) experience of trying to book 2 J fare class tickets with the 50% companion award.

Hello all! I have been lurking quite a while and I have received several useful information from several users. I was too lazy to register and post but I thought these self-isolation days are the best moments to register and post!

Regarding the discussion going on here some information I have is as follows. I am an Elite Plus and I had checked this with a couple of customer service representatives and one airport ticket office. Together with those and what I obtained from TK website, here are my conclusions about this issue:

1) %50 Busines companion ticket only applies to paid tickets in C or D class. There was a clear statement at TK website which states "%50 discount" is available only for certain classes without mentioning C or D class but this is what I learnt through representatives and the ticket office. As far as I see, this statement is removed from the web site now but I believe it is still the case.

2) %50 companion ticket does not apply for award tickets unfortunately. Companion award ticket is available at %30 discount for all M&S members (not only for Elites) for all paid tickets. That is, if you paid for a ticket, you can purchase a companion ticket with miles at %30 discount. Furthermore, the companion award ticket can be issued for the same or lower cabin.

I hope that these are relaxed recently and would be very happy if anyone has any other experience. All the best.

2- Yes, it was decreased from 50% to 30% in the past years. You are right

If one upgrades a ticket with the Elite plus voucher, can one get a second companion miles ticket in biz class?
i tried this last time and was told it was not possible

Obviously, the answer is no.
The companion is valid when purchasing two Business Class fare bucketed tickets.

When purchasing a ticket an upgrading with an Elite Plus voucher, that ticket is considered as an Economy Class ticket.

Does anyone have a recent experience here in booking the 2nd business class ticket with a 50% discount here?

I called the (Elite) Hotline various times but as a not turkish speking individual i ireally have a hard time communicationg with these guys...

So is there any other way than the TK Hotline to book those tickets?

You could contact a city sales office or an airport sales office. If possible go to the office in person for a better service.

Or maybe to send a feedback form with detailed request and your current ticket in case of advance booking? They usually revert in max 2 days

Credit card/payment information couldn't be exchanged through the feedback form so it wouldn't be possible to ticket through the feedback form. Thus, they might make a reservation on hold and the payment could be completed through the hotline if they do so.

Does anybody know, if this discount applies to all business class fares (J, K, Z) or only to the expensive ones (C, D)?

Any other advice on how to book these?

Post #19 is the latest information regarding these discounted tickets.
To book these, you would need to call TK and book it on the phone or contact a sales office. Unfortunately, online tools wouldn't work for these kind of tickets.

The information you got from TK is correct, only C or D class bookings are eligible for 50% companion discount.
