No miles on AC from US to Canada

I have flown last month from LGA to YUL with AC.

Just received this bizarre email: "
Please be informed that Miles cannot be earned in booking classes S, T, L, A, K and F on flights within Canada and between Canada and the United States when flown with Air Canada Airlines."

According to TK website, the only restrictions are domestic flights only:

https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-i...es/air-canada/

Does anyone have a similar experience?

Interesting, IMO, you should write a follow-up to your feedback form that the website does only state "international" flights and Canada to the USA is technically an international flight.

A few things to keep in mind:

For Air Canada, CAN-US flights are considered as Transborder flight rather than International flights. There may be some miscommunication between AC and TK.

Air Canada uses "Branded Fare", see Ar Canada website or the Air Canada forum on FT for details. This often results in AC posting miles under a different fare code to partner airlines.

+1 for the TK website not accurately reflecting AC's intention to not pay for miles on trans-border flights in those fare classes.

The wording used to be different, I remember that it used to be no miles for flights between the US and Canada (although I still got miles for those legs).

Up till last month, I still got miles on AC for transborder. All my AC flights are UA codeshares operated by AC.

You could get M&S miles on AC transborder flights but not on X, I, R, F, S, T, L, A, K fare buckets.

I have received miles for economy (A) on YYZ-EWR in 2017 without problems despite (A) was excluded in M&S table

What fare did you purchase? Economy Basic, Standard, Flex, or Comfort?

AC uses banded fare. For example, A21ZLACO has A booking class, but it's a fare basis for Economy Comfort. AC credits this ticket as M to TK which results in 100% miles credited. On the other hand, U0ZLATG is a fare basis for Economy Standard. 50% miles will be credited despite the U booking class.

AFAIR it was the cheapest available fare in eco (I had to pay for seats if wanted select any). Can't remember fare basis unfortunately.
Below u will find screenshot from my M&S account showing credited flight (on old TK website clearly stated it was economy "A" fare, unfortunately now statement shows only Y as flight in economy class)

I know what TK.com says but I had T L A K transborder credited to TK no problem for years. I considered it a hidden perk:P
Nonetheless, with the AC's IT mess and DHP flag on me, I fly UA metal whenever I can. However, AC metal dominates on flights out of YYZ to UA hubs e.g. IAH, SFO, EWR

Back in 2017 even 2018 we got miles with AC trans-border flights even though it states that we wouldn't get any. Maybe TK has decided to enforce the rules?

There seems to be serious problems between Air Canada and Turkish Airlines recently. And I'm having trouble figuring out who's issue it is.

I can also confirm, I also didn't get miles for a Standard fare, class K.

YYZ to TPA and SRQ to YYZ via Air Canada Rouge.

The strange thing is that I did really get miles from LGA to YYZ (K class) on AC mainline, but on LGA to YUL (A class) with Air Canada Express, I get nothing.

What's more, my parents were flying from ICN to YYZ with AC, HX code share, but I don't know why they get 50% instead of 25% for K class.... Very weird for AC
