New SQ lounge at BKK has the best food. Eva lounge is great to hang out, food is just ok. TK lounge at BKK is terrible, and they know it.

Also, BKK-IST flight was extremely hot, and it's not just me - several passengers were fanning themselves with their menus throughout the evening. Mid-flight I went up to FAs and asked, and they acted all surprised, but lowered temp. a bit (still too hot to be comfortable, though, so could not sleep well and woke up exhausted - it's like sleeping in a tropical non-airconditioned hotel). IST-TLV on 777 was fine. (Pardon the offtopic).

That's about the amount of time you need to do it justice. I think they start replacing breakfast with lunch 10.30-11am. Good if you can experience both in 1 visit

The grilled prawn and pomelo coconut salad sounds amazing. How is the dreamliner and new seat?

I didn't have that particular salad - but I am sure it was good like the rest of the food
I posted a detailed review of the 787 and new business class here.

Thanks! I will read that thread now. I should have known better than to ask about it, thinking you hadn't reported on it

Good choice! I find TK pasta dishes unremarkable, while the kofte is always good!

While I don’t have the photos, the J catering was excellent today. TK 11, IST-JFK. Main options were Islim kebab, swordfish, and a pasta dish. We all opted for the swordfish and it was quite good! Juicy meat, cooked well. The chef made a remark that he is a “fish-chef,” although I’m not sure if that makes a difference.

going to have a flight on TK next month and reading up about it

forgive the obvious question, but from the menus posted TK does not provide hot snack options ? ie; Porrdige on PR, instant noodles on MH/SQ/BR ?

Depends on the flight length. I am not sure about the exact cut off, but generally for flights over 13 hours there are hot snack options.

Thanks, found a review on the flight I'll be taking which states snack as

“pide” with white cheese and chicken breast
Demel’s petits desserts
Any idea if all wide body flights have the same alcohol selection ? Will be connecting KUL - IST - IAH and return
