Of course with technical errors :D

^ if it gets working. But perhaps the weekend outage was to set up the capability.

Normally I might prefer that partner reward bookings remain for "those in the know", but quite frankly M&S members are not going to make a dent in *A award space.

I was playing around with this new booking tool earlier today. It's high time that this capability is being put in place, but for now it is still very half-baked (as I came to expect from TK):
  • No one-way search capability
  • No class of service indication - Economy as sole, default option
  • Star Award booking tool completely separate from TK booking tool - what if I want a combined award?
  • When no flights are available, there is no message whatsoever, just a blank results screen
  • Unable to do multi-airport searches (e.g. LON, NYC, PAR...)

Nonetheless, I was in the end able to find a sample itinerary ZRH-LHR, including multi-carrier connections combining LX and SN. I went as far as miles + tax quote and it looked as if I could have booked.

So baby steps... but in the right direction

Where do you folks see this option?

In the drop down below my name I see only Award Tickets that are TK awards. Where is a link to *A redemptions?

Maux Nov 22, 18 9:15 am

Hi guys,
I see FRA-HNL 109 euro r/t 60000 miles with UA
ZRH-MEL 111 euro r/t 75000 with SQ

I appreciate that they tried to add this functionality but it's fairly useless. The tool doesn't recognize EWR or LGA as New York area airports, only JFK, which doesn't help if you're trying to get to NY from within North America. Guess I'll have to call in to make a booking anyway.

I found it after going to 'Miles Transactions' in the drop down below my name. From there you can see the 'Star Alliance award ticket' option. This direct link might work:

Fantastic news! The website appears to work OK for me, availability is simply displayed after selecting destination, dates, and number of passengers. If business is available, it shows up.

A much needed improvement to the program!

Thanks a lot. I only check the accrual notification e-mails and never go to this page :)

So if someone wants to redeem miles from another partner, lets say A3, this will be done on TK site?

No, you have to contact A3 FFP by phone or redeem A3 miles on their website (if available)

It's not useless, it's very limited... but however always better than the nothing before.
By the way, it doesn't recognize also Turin.

Yes and I hope they are working on one way award too

ericw Nov 27, 18 8:15 am

I submitted a feedback via TK.com about one way redemption.

I cannot find any flights out of YYZ (AC, UA, LH) - I expect no availability on AC Rouge, AC Express, UA express, just like before.

I did find DPS-SIN-PEK that I recently booked with Aeroplan. I am surprised to see both SQ and SQ/CA flights are available for 20K Y and 35K C. No YQ.
I thought TK didn't allow mixed carrier on 1 award ticket?
