Odd rows: A (window) [aisle] E&F (honeymoon seats, console at the aisle) [aisle] K (window)
Even rows: A (window) [aisle] D&G (seats closer to aisle, console in between seats) [aisle] K (window)

Please note that as of August 11th, it is not possible to select seats on the TK website or in the TK app. Also, the hotline seems to look at an outdated seat map and does not see all seats.

The J seating chart looks interesting!! I might take an EXTRA LONG detour to IST, just to try out the 789.

Two thoughts...

1. Pilots, maintenance, flight attendants, etc. all need to be specifically trained for each aircraft type, yet TK seems to be unable to even focus on one of Airbus or Boeing.

2. Why assign the 787 to a "long and thin" route such as BOG, but then keep the PTY hop? (which I understand is due to being unable to take off from BOG altitude with enough fuel to get all the way to IST)

Smells like the Thompson Vantage XL in "honeymoon" config

EDIT:
Hmmm actually I might be wrong as the window/window-side aisle seats don't match up.

The economical performance of A332 on the route might be of concern as well. That route is pushing the capabilities of A332 pretty far, I would assume 789 is much cheaper to operate on such a route. Also they might not be able to fill an entire plane just for BOG or PTY.

I am booked on the DPS service for August but hadn’t appreciated that it was only due to start on the 17th July. That does not leave much room for delays to start up.

There is no seat map available for the 787 sectors I am booked on.

looking forward to my first TK long haul and just hope the 787-9 launches as planned

TK is designing its own seat for J on 787s, but I've heard it won't be suites (like Qsuites or Delta)

I think there's some confusion here. TK are designing their own economy seat from scratch. The business class seat is being designed with existing manufacturers (in the same way most airlines custom design seats for their service).

The article you're referring to as the economy seat design is from 2014. The business class seats are being designed by TK and will not be suites with sliding doors.

Edit: @starflyergold Ah, I misread your post yes, they are designing the seats themselves with existing manufacturers. I did not mean TK is manufacturing the seats, I just meant they are designing it

It is 3-3-3. I don't think 3-4-3 layout even exists for the 787 on any airline, maybe you meant 2-4-2.

Sorry, I was thinking 787 and typing economy for the 777. So yes 3-3-3 or 2-4-2. Thanks for letting me know it's 3-3-3. It's too bad in a way, when I travel with my wife in Y we like having the 2 side to ourselves on the A330 rather than sharing with a person we don't know. But, we'll live!

Well one operator managed to squeeze a 3-4-3 arrangement into an A350 I guess anything is possible these day.
