Interesting... any idea on when EWR-IST flights may start?

vincewy Aug 19, 2018 10:21 pm

Anyone knowing the status/progress with Macau? Besides TK flying 3X weekly, perhaps have TP doing LIS-IST-MFM and codeshare on certain days too. TP tried this decades ago and failed, but now with IST as a hub and Star Alliance this option should also be considered again.

TAP had a complicated relationship with Asia, involving (at different stages) Brussels, Sabena, Bangkok and Macau. Costs were bonkers and revenues low: not a situation that usually discouraged TAP, but the route was soon pulled. This was twenty year's back: TP is a new animal, but i can't see the present airline having the will to fly east again

Not so fast, I can't find the nonstop IST-DPS any more (they were available earlier). Instead I'm getting connections through CGK and KUL. Did TK just launch a service and retract it?
