OZ A330 collides with TK A321 at IST
A330 attacks A321 at Istanbul Ataturk ? avgeek | Aviation News and Analysis
An incident has occurred at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, involving an Asiana Airlines A330 and a Turkish Airlines a321. Information is still slow going, however the common theme among reports is that the A330, which was headed for Seoul, was taxing towards to the runway from the main terminal, when the winglet of the A330 literally sliced off the entire A321’s tail.
Now, with such a severe crash, the whole taxiway was closed, and the airport’s fire department, took the necessary security precautions to make sure everyone was safe and to deal with the situation as efficiently as possible. Also, an investigation has been launched to study the incident and determine whether it was the pilots error or whether improper instruction was given from ATC.

The plane was TC-JMM which had just operated TK969 from Ercan and it was holding short of the parking position.
As it's one of the oldest A321s in the fleet - one of the Kingfisher group perhaps its had its day but who knows. Good that no one was hurt.

Will be the Asiana crew's fault IMO, they saw the Turkish plane before the went by it and should have been aware of the clearance the needed for their wing. Glad nobody was hurt.
Yeah that flummoxed ground person. Can damage that bad to the planes tail be fixed?
