Onboard Wi-Fi [Master thread]
I couldn't find an online source for this but on my TXL-IST flight on A333 last week one of the FA's told me that the wifi is now free for Elite and Elite Plus members flying Economy.
There was a Miles & Smiles login section in the purchasing page, but I couldn't get it working. There was a name misspelling on my reservation so I think that was the problem. Would love to hear if anyone got it working. |
This must then be something new - I have never seen this before - it was either complimentary C-class or paid Y-class login. If you are right, it is a great enhancement.
|
Yes, I confirm. It's working and I'm using it now. It's very convenient because I can connect my phone using J access and computer using E+ access. Before I could connect only 1 device at the time using J access.
Very niece TK!! |
How do you log in?
|
You enter your m&s number, birth date and seat number
|
This is wonderful news! Good job, TK (if it does, infact, work)!!
|
Is free wifi only for TK's own elite passengers traveling in C? Not for *G passengers (in my case, UA*G) traveling in C?

P.S. I haven't tried the service personally, so, can only recount what I read online. |

Yes, it says you have to be elite or elite+. But in C you have a free access regardless of your status.

Can anyone comment on the speeds of the Wifi? A comparaison to LH's offering would be great!
|
It's ok for emails or whatsapp, maybe some light browsing. Not more that that

No internet over Chinese airspace, so if your destination is HKG, China, then you won't get much use of it anyway.
