Update March 2015: Recent reports indicate the unofficial status match programme is running reasonably smoothly.
TK will only match Star Alliance Gold, Skyteam Elite Plus and Oneworld Emerald members. Other, more exotic, gold card holders are out of luck. Please report your experience in this thread.
It appears that status matches are only granted once per lifetime, so think carefully before requesting if you might not re-qualify.
Please note that the only way to contact TK is now via the website

We have received your message that you sent to our unit on 20 January 2015. Please be informed that when you claim your first flight with Turkish Airlines or other Star Alliance members to your Miles&Smiles account, your card will be sent to your address automatically.
On the otherhand, we would like to remind you that you can also get your original Miles&Smiles Card from Card Press Desk at Ataturk Airport International Terminal between 07.30 A.M and 09.45 PM. The location of Card Press desk is between A and B Check-in counters.

Timeline can range from few hours to few days, be patient!

It looks like TK might also ask you for a scan of your Passport now. So if you are in a hurry better submit it right away in the first place with all the other documents.

Finally got matched today, after sending the request 20 times before...
Another question in general: My girlfriend got a challenge for the status match with United. She wants to credit our honeymoon flights to this account but I'm not sure if this is working. She applied to the challenge with her maiden name and will get a name change in August. Is it possible to credit the miles to an account with a different name? And what about lounge access with a card and a flight ticket with different names?

Wow. Asked for a match at 1 pm and after one hour at 2pm received an email that I was matched Classic Plus. Logged in and saw that I'm Elite now.

2. go to: Contact us / Customer Relations / new feedback
3. M&S programme / request / membership processing
4. upload statement (i've taken print screen of my online account for A3*G)
5. upload A3*G scanned card
6. write up a quick note always will be good if you can state why you wanted to move to TK
note that i applied May 14th and got a response within 24 hours. My last flight on the statement was back in Jan 2015.

Ahhhh. There it is. I've only sent mine in 7 times so far. I only have 13 more to look forward to.
I really don't understand the hit or miss with TK. I really like the product and service in air, but the back office service is really frustrating. SERENITY NOW!

I'm not sure if mcmichi is being sarcastic, but if not hopefully someday my form will land on this TK agent's desk. I am astounded at the disparity between the excellent on air product and service versus the back office ineptitude. I don't know how they get anything done.
Seriously though, I have sent attachments as jpg, pdf, and word, I also make sure it's within the kb parameters, and I still keep getting the "We have received your request... we would like you to send a copy of your gold card to the link...." That is what I have been doing!!!
Can you guys chime in on what format you sent your attachments and if you used Firefox, Chrome, Explorer etc..? I'm not sure if that's the issue (so much as it's easier to hit the DENY auto-response button) but it might be useful as a data point to this thread.

I did my statement and the copy of the card in one PDF file. and sent it to them.
And they really did it within one hour not being sarcastic.
Since the match I have also contacted them for a miles claim and change of time. I've always received a reply within 24h.

Registered and applied 1st of June, got status matched on 3rd, and got a card today in my postbox in a beautiful gift package.
