Also Got reassigned seat at Gate to Business Class seat on A380, although it was Econ Service. No business meal served.

Just wondering whether TK's operational upgrade check-in system prioritise by fare class or status - Got a Y class econ fare next month and IST-YYZ seems full now.

I haven’t seen it in action myself, but FT legend has it that TK family/friends upgrades trump all. I don’t know what the official upgrade pecking order looks like or if they even have one.

Good luck with your upgrade, you certainly deserve to be first in line at that price!

Haha thanks - actually the ticket wasn't too expensive either but I was able to obtain a high fare class. Departing from OSL to North America, flexible Y classes are sometimes selling even cheaper than semi-flex/ restrictive fare!
