I purchased

BKK > IST (stop over) > LAX > IST (stop over) > BKK

ticketed in K for €2.620 / $3.590 (changes $70)

Quite a bargain considering the route and the flexiblity of the ticket.

The price for NYC or ORD is €600 more.

FYI, any deals in J between North America and East Asia under $4000 US require quick decision and booking. So far I have seen JFK/ORD/IAD-IST-KUL and YUL-IST-BKK for $3500 but they were only available in less than a week.

Current J deal - IAH-IST-MSQ, $2000 ai, however Belarus requires visa ($570 multiple entries, $160 transit, are you kidding me?) with extortionate fee for US citizens else I would've booked this and do a quick turnaround to other destinations in Turkey/Europe.

For which dates is that offer valid?
That deal sounds more like a mistake fare.

Good until June 25th. It doesn't look like mistake fare to me.

For travelling until Dec 14th, 2014. Without the visa fees this would've been less than 10 cpm (over 23000 miles for $2000 if you're C+/E/E+) and do this twice your E+ is renewed.

Even if visa is required I would've plunged into this deal and accrued a lot of miles had the visa fee been more reasonable, you can always book Belavia to other parts of Europe or even back to IST without risk of getting dinged for nested/overlapping booking.

Not TK but for members based in Istanbul the current LH/LX/UA/AC sale ex Istanbul is pretty good. Purchased IST ZRH EWR on LX / LAX YYZ IST on AC for €1.652 in P (Business Class). Not bad at all. Travel period is until mid September.

BOS <> IST for $2340 US ai.

I thought this deal is pretty good for the summer, a great alternative if you can't find CC from JFK for under $2000.

similar deal reverse (IST-BOS)

IAH-MSQ deal is extended until July 16th

At the moment YYZ-IST-HKG in J at around $2818 USD is the best deal, see the thread I started here

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/premi...ng-3126-a.html

You can also get to MNL, ICN, TPE, CAN, PVG, PEK, KIX, and NRT for a little more, ideal for open jaw rt. $3000 USD sounds a lot but as E+ you can nearly renew the status with 1 trip, plus supplementing the remaining miles with domestic UA/AC flights or a trip to Turkey with upgrade vouchers.

ex-VKO there are some good fares in Business. Both HKG and PVG can be had for €1000 return in J-Class. I guess the airside transit may pose some difficulties though, since you can't make a same plane turnaround, if you for instance arrive from TK from IST to position.

Jonas, nice find, is this a mistake fare? The cheapest I've found is 73668 RUB (aprox $1070 USD), as an E+/E/C+, you'd earn 19372 miles, that's 5.5 cpm, you can't even find Y deals like this in US these days, much less J. So YYZ-HKG is no longer the best deal.

I wonder if this offer will encourage Turkish folks to re-position themselves to VKO to go to HKG and PVG since Turkish citizens, along with former CIS, Central/South Americans, Thais, and South Koreans don't need visas to enter Russia. In fact, some could even abandon the last segment (IST-VKO) just for the convenience.

The rest of us will have to settle for CAI-BKK deal, which IMO is the second best now for €1090 (aprox $1220 USD) especially since many members here have already done immediate turnarounds at CAI. E+/E/C+ earns 18060 miles so it's around 6.7 cpm.

do you really want to be that guy?

anyway, he wants to go somewhere and doesn't care where that place is. if nothing else it's a great way for him to see the world.

As far as I know it's not a mistake fare. The deal has been around for over a year now, and it also works for PVG and PEK. ICN and NRT can be had for around €1200 which is still a very good deal.

Why is this not possible?

Because you need to transit to a third country when using the 24 hour airside transit. For instance Turkey-Russia-Turkey doesn't work, but Germany-Russia-Turkey works.
