Class D versus Class K
Looking at business class flights from DUB to SIN via IST on Turkish Airlines and I see these seats/classes. Can anyone explain them to me point me to how t find out what exactly I would be getting.
DUB - IST: Boeing 737 Business Class (D) IST - SIN: Airbus A330 Business Class (D) SIN - IST: Airbus A330 Business Class (K) IST - DUB: Boeing 737 Business Class (K) Thanks |
Well depending on which program you are crediting the miles two, K and D will give you the same amount of mileage. Since D is a higher booking class, I could imagine the rebooking and refund rules to be a bit more flexible than on the K fare.

This is just a different 'booking class' (i.e. 'inventory class'). If you credit to TK M&S, you will always get 150% (200% if E or E+) regardless of the 'booking class' used. The fare rules might be different, though: K could have penalty for booking change/refund, while D could allow for free changes/refunds. If you book via a Travel Agency they are normally quite good with explaining what the rules/options are. But generally: the more expensive the ticket is (i.e. the higher 'inventory class' is used) the more flexible the fare is (in terms of cancellation/re-booking/refund etc.)

Thanks guys, I was just checking if I was getting a bad deal on the DUB - IST leg on the TK aircaft. I wasn't sure how D and K differed.
I got the info from ITA software but it looks like it's all E on the TK site. |
