It's not like loyalty management of TK did a lot of active planning for matching. People pushed for matching and they created an ad-hoc match program.
Also, regardless of a minimum sector requirement, a match will always attract a diverse set of people. Some will match just for shiny cards, others to get the card just-in-case they'd start flying TK next year. You cannot have a match program and expect to only get high revenue pax starting to fly with you.

Maybe this information could be added as well considering the exact mileage amount you will get for a flight:
Credited mileage amount is based on IATA's Ticketed Point Mileage (TPM) and whenever the TK calculator cannot calculate mileage (for example UA flights within the USA) you can lookup the miles that will be credited on either expertflyer.com or in the KVS tool.

Next level qualification: membership year or on 12mth cycle?
As subject line says.
I'm elite status. I'm 12k miles short of elite+ but my 12mth membership cycle expired end of last month. The TK calculator online says I would need ~17k miles assuming I entered the date of 30th Nov.
Querying TK customercare they say "basing on 12mths membership." (12mths of what?) membership months or qualifying months?

Status Miles?
I'm slightly confused with Miles and Status miles.
How can I find out how many status miles I can earn on a flight? or are they the same as miles?
I watched the video and they talk about converting miles to status miles?
I'm looking to fly CPT -GVA RTN in J and wondering how far up the ladder that one flight would get me. According to the calculator on TK website I would earn
19690 miles, not enough even for classic plus. Are my calculations right?
Thanks,

OK, naturally it is an IST connection. You have the right number of miles. They are status and award miles.

Ok, thanks,
Seems a bit stingy to me that even if I do 2 J class return flights from CPT to Europe I still don't qualify for Elite
19960 x 2 = 39920 still short of the 40,000
