Looks like there hasn't been any answers to this question, I have the same question.
I'm on AMS-IST-Ankara just before midnight, and would like to take an earlier flight if possible, since I'm returning from a business trip in the afternoon on the same day.
ANybody know if TK allows for same-day standby?

I have never had a problem changing to an earlier flight domestically, so perhaps they'll be as laid back about it internationally as well. Good luck!

On reward tickets there is no stand by allowed. All segments must be on positive space. I had a similar situation sometime ago and it was a TK reward ticket in business class and there were plenty of seats available .
On domestic tickets yes they are quite flexible at the airport in Istanbul.
