Well if my work mate/relief can't get from North America to Turkey tomorrow, it's certainly going to impact my flight home from IST to ORD on TK5. I'm not sure what TALT routing he's booked, but I may be in Turkey for an extra couple of days if he's booked through LHR or northern Europe

I'm more worried about my flight TO Turkey tomorrow. I'm up in frozen and soon to be ash covered Stockholm with a ARN-IST flight tomorrow.

Türk Hava Yolları’nın bugün gerçekleştireceği Manchester, Birmingham, Stockholm, Oslo, Londra, Kopenhag, Brüksel, Amsterdam’a yapılacak seferler karşılıklı olarak iptal edildi.

İlgili ülkelerdeki hava trafiğinin ne zaman açılacağına ilişkin şu an için kesin bilgi bulunmamaktadır. Bu nedenle yarın yapılacak seferlerle ilişkin karar henüz verilmemiştir.

TK has cancelled flights to MAN, BHX, LHR, STN, ARN, OSL, CPH, BRU and AMS today because of Volcanic Ash.

No decision about tomorrow's flights yet.

This is my first time with TK, but I'm wondering what their policy is going to be for this situation. I was headed to Shanghai tomorrow, but that looks like it might not happen now.

Do they refund the ticket, rebook, or what should I expect? It's a natural disaster, so I don't think there's any compensation involved, but any tips on making this go more smoothly tomorrow?

Me too

Hi SeattleFlyGuy

Me too.

Am very afraid of TK. They were rubbish with my luggage misconnect on the way out, and now I am SIN-IST-LHR this evening.

That intl-intl transfer desk at IST is awful at the best of times, and am thinking it will be awful tomorrow morning (you can't get through to the lounge without a boarding pass, so I am taking my itinerary in the vain hope that it may help).

Am expecting to spend a couple of days in IST, or even take the train from IST-LON.

Am not expecting any help from TK, so if any locals/regulars can give advice as to how to get a TK person to help out, that would be great.

Thanks!

TK Call Center consistently gives unconsistent answers. Call them repeatedly until you find the response you want.

If you are still not satisfied with the response, send me an email ([email protected]) or message here with your details. I will try to solve them with TK Travel Agent's Desk.

Good luck, everyone!

I was told rebooking regardless of booking classes available (one agent said up to C, one up to Y), or ticket value in MCO usable for another TK ticket.

But it looks like their transatlantic services to NY and YYZ are flying.

Turkey is on the edge of the volcanic ash plume as of now but Istanbul should be under it by tomorrow afternoon: see the map issued by the London Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre on Sunday 18 April at 0.08am.

I have gotten very consistent replies from the Elite/Elite Plus line.

Any booking class up to C is game. My cancelled HEL-HKG-HEL at the moment is HEL-IST-SIN//HKG-IST-HEL. TK71 with zero avail to start with got confirmed. All I can hope is the airspace opens by Thu.

The Black Sea region is having a couple of problems. I will be flying the same route, ORD-IST, and it is nonstop to Ist with THY. They shouldn't have to have a layover, but I am not sure of the flight path.

My fiance is working on a ship right now and there are a few crewmembers from another ship that have signed off and are in a hotel in the states because of the cloud. They are flying to northern Europe with British Airways and Lufthansa.
