Remote Interview Pilot for Trusted Traveler Programs

Eligible Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) members can now complete enrollment interviews with a CBP officer through video teleconferencing, while ensuring that the remote interview process maintains high security and privacy standards.

Eligibility

Some renewing Global Entry members who are conditionally approved are eligible to participate in the pilot. Renewing NEXUS, FAST and SENTRI members will be integrated into the pilot through a phased approach. First-time TTP applicants are not yet eligible to participate. NEXUS and FAST-North interviews at Canadian enrollment centers remain suspended until further notice.

Criteria

To be eligible for the remote interview pilot, TTP members must:
  • Be conditionally approved for a TTP renewal;
  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Have a photo on file with CBP that was taken (1) within the past 10 years, and (2) after the applicant was 14 years of age; and
  • Have previously submitted fingerprints to CBP.
Scheduling a Remote Interview

To schedule a remote interview, eligible applicants may log into their TTP dashboard and select the “Scheduling Your Remote Interview” link. CBP recommends that applicants verify their e-mail address of record by using the “Edit Profile” link prior to scheduling a remote interview. Doing so will ensure that the applicant receives appointment details and reminders.

Technology Requirements

CBP will use Zoom for government videoconferencing software to conduct the remote interviews. Applicants should ensure that their computer, tablet, or smartphone has a working microphone and camera, and that their device is capable of running the Zoom platform prior to scheduling their interview appointment.

Document Requirements

Applicants who schedule remote interviews will be able to access a virtual waiting room up to 15 minutes prior to their scheduled interview time through their TTP dashboard or the CBP OneTM Mobile Application, available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play. Interviews will take approximately 15 minutes. Applicants should be prepared to show the following documents during their remote interview:
  • A valid passport. Applicants should bring all of their current passports to the interview so the information can be added to their file.
  • Documents providing proof of residency. Such proof may include a driver's license, mortgage statement, rental payment statement, or utility bill that features the applicant’s current home address.
  • A permanent residence card (if applicable).

In hisoka 's 11:28 AM post (my time, anyway) note NEXUS at the top of the screenshot. Then note how June 26 is highlighted by a blue line line around that date - there is some crossover in the code where it is recognizing remote interviews available as of that date for Global Entry. This doesn't really mean anything and is just a nerdy observation

I checked in for remote interview option from time-to-time ever since I was conditionally approved for my GE renewal 2 months ago. Wish I was following this thread. Now it seems like Aug 5th to Sept 4th are open with tons of availability for online, but my in-person appointment is this week. Online seems like a great option - I need to print out various documents for in-person and given WFH it's a hassle for me without easy access to a printer.

You certainly can reschedule your in person appointment to remote interview, unless time is of the essence.

GE renewal via Zoom interview if unable to enter US

Am aware there are quite a few threads on GE but just to report that I organised my GE Interview with TSA via a zoom call about 10 days ago (this is a relatively new facility and is good news for all of us not able to go to the US to have the interview there). Attended today and the call lasted all of 3 mins and my GE was approved/renewed. It previously ran out in 2019 but the conditional approval (for renewal) was extended by 2 years due to Covid.

Only disappointment is my new expiry date is based on the old GE timings so instead of new GE approval being 5 years from today is 5 years from when my last GE ran out so I will need to renew again in 3.5 years.

Is anyone able to tell me what I'm doing wrong? I see no availability for remote interviews - for ever, I went out a year + and this is for GE not Nexus. Thank you

From the Nexus Renewal Information and Processing Timelines thread:

Conditionally approved July 2021 about 1 week later. Interview required.
I have options for in person and online interview.
Appointment Type:
In-Person
Remote
(This option will allow applicants to interview through the video calling application Zoom. Remote interviews conducted through Zoom will require an applicant to have a Zoom compatible device with a functioning camera to participate.)

Right. So I don't think anything has changed? It was always known that remote Nexus interviews would eventually be available. Seems like situation remains the same?

I just got my conditional renewal and am also not seeing any availability for Zoom interviews. Any idea when they release new time slots?

All dates/days and time slots are closed till Canada opens their Nexus office, there is no date or planes date for that other than till the pandemic is better(that I got from the Canadian government site, Canada has been saying for maybe a year do not apply for new nexus card

for existing they they might be having virtual web meetings as Canada not needed for a renew.

sorry for the bad news and hope is changes soon
