Nexus Card - Declare Medications?

Does anyone have experience with the CBSA regarding bringing in a small amount of prescribed medication for a trip (less than 10 pills). All the medications are readily available via prescription in Canada (Ambian/Lunesta/Xanax/Modafinil), and I have them in the pharmacy containers along with a prescription receipt. All were of course legally obtained from a doctor/pharmacy.

I've never seen a question on the customs form or Nexus entry machine, but I've heard a rumor from the grapevine that someone has had their Nexus stripped due to not declaring medication at the point of entry. I'm a Canadian citizen and Nexus holder living in Japan - if that makes any difference (Non-resident of Canada).

I always err on the side of caution; if in doubt, declare.

Current NEXUS member who recently re-entered YUL. I had about 30USD of 2-90 day supply medications and I was arriving on an evening flight from the US (thus no lines), so I decided to use the Primary Inspection Kiosks. I clearly remember getting a code of `23' on my slip, which the BSO ended up circling a `O' and put what I thought was a check mark. (The next day I realise that the `check mark' was actually a `1', and the agent actually wrote `10'.) Anyways, he asked the normal questions of Business or Pleasure etc. When he asked if I had made any purchases, and I told him that I had prescription medications and that was it.

He then returned my passport, but then he had a bit of a shocked look on his face. I'm not sure if I accidentally raised my voice when I said `That's it', but I was tired after a 12 hour layover in PHL.
