EoA when flying YVR-YYZ-CLT
My family has an upcoming flight from Vancouver (Canada) to Charlotte, NC with a layover in Toronto.
My husband and I already have GE and are NOT in need of renewal.
Our children will be conditionally approved before the trip, and we would like to do EoA
At which airport can we complete the EoA? The EoA in Charlotte is not open at the time of our arrival, so that is not an option. Can we complete it in Vancouver at the beginning of our journey because our final destination is the U.S., or do we have to fit it in during our Toronto layover? Or do we have a choice? It just seems from the description of where the EoA is located in Vancouver and Toronto that they are in areas where you would be going through customs and immigration after a flight, not before. And since the flight from Vancouver to Toronto is not an international flight, would we even be going through immigration and customs?

You can complete EOA at Charlotte. There is no centre, the regular CBD line is used and when you notify the officer of your intention to enrol on arrival, you are asked to wait until the officer undertaking EOA on a different desk within the main area can process you.
I completed EOA as a first time applicant in Charlotte last month and was done in under 30 mins just using the regular customs line then waiting to be seen by one of the officers.

Enrollment on Arrival interviews for conditionally approved applicants can only be completed while going through passport controls when being admitted into the United States. Based upon the itinerary which you described, the only location where you can have it done is at the US immigration and customs preclearance facility in Toronto.

Ah, understood.
That would be true for a flight arriving as an international flight to Charlotte, but the poster is flying via Toronto, which has US preclearance. The flight from Toronto to Charlotte will arrive as a domestic US flight with no need or opportunity to go through the customs/immigration area. The chance to do Enrollment on "Arrival" is in Toronto in this case.

Arrived into Boston Terminal E from a Delta flight from LHR. Hold a U.K. passport, and had been conditionally approved.
No dedicated lane for GE interviews - was told to proceed to any immigration counter for visitors, and once admitted into the USA, told to wait in small waiting area at far side of immigration hall.
Waited for 10 minutes and Officer asked for passport and application number. My address had since changed so I showed my U.K. driver’s license with new address and this was fine. Process took about 7 minutes . Photo and fingerprints taken. After this I was free to go on my way.
Status changed to approved within hours.
Incidentally, flight from London arrived at 1140am, and we were the only international arrivals into Terminal E at this time on a Saturday . So a very good time to arrive!

FWIW, my boss applied for GE and was conditionally approved, just before COVID hit. There were no local appointments available, but we had a work trip to Colombia in December 2021. She took her GE paperwork with her and did GE On Arrival at MIA. I think she said she was through in 15 minutes and received her approval email before she reached the gate for our connecting to CLE.

I just went thru the process yesterday afternoon at IAD. The booth is past immigrations and international baggage claim, on the left side wall about 50 feet before you leave the immigration hall and enter the transfer desk and domestic baggage claim area. They had 2 folks working, took me about 10 minutes for me to complete the process as a renewal to include a new picture. They only asked for my passport and drivers license. Later on last night, I got the TTP change email and I confirmed that the system reflected my approval on the website.

i'm arriving from LHR in September to DFW but my flight lands at 6:15pm, i'm guessing I am out of luck? The hours of operation says 10am to 6pm which seems really odd. All the other airports have much later hours. What else can I do besides taking another international flight and coming back? This is really frustrating.

However, this link says it's possible "during international arrivals" whatever that means:

Did it in Houston (IAH) for my renewal.
I went to the Global Entry kiosks, did the machine, and then got into a short line for the guy who looks at your ticket. I asked him about the interview and he said "go to 3 or 4" and vaguely gestured to the right which wasnt very clear to me. I asked the other guy collecting tickets, and he was much nicer.
He explained that you walk towards the exit, and near the end, there are booths 3 and 4. But once you get there, youre on the WRONG side of things (exit only), and theres no sign or any other explanation on what to do next.
At that point youre in a bit of a pickle. You either walk through 3/4 towards the "right" side, at which point you are yelled at for doing it wrong, or you wait on the "wrong side" at which point you are yelled at for doing it wrong..
Once someone either yells at you or escorts you over, you're put into a little holding pen. I had two people in front of me. One went through quickly. The other was more complicated (I overhead he had german and russian citizenship, oof).
Right before I was attended to, I heard my guy being very nasty to a lady who was on the "wrong" side and after seeing his booth was empty, decided to approach the counter because clearly she should have known that there was a holding pen on the other side she couldnt see.
My interview was pretty basic. I was asked about my visit to a middle eastern country, which is why I correctly assumed I was being asked to do this interview. I was also asked if I had been to "any other country that we are concerned about" - no.
He then asked me for my current card. I didnt have it. I was told I should always have it. Even though the first time I did this they said I would never need the card, I was asked for my number. I didnt have it, but offered to look it up in my email. He then did me the "favor" of looking it up.
I was also asked for proof of current address - my license worked.
Fingerprints and photos, and I was done.
In all, 10-15 minutes.Card arrived in the mail the next week.
Just wish they had a little bit of customer service training.

Very easy and glad this worked out because there is no GE interview option at RDU (unless part of EOA) and so I was going to have to work an interview into a work trip later in the year but now I'm all set.
