Are airport interview locations past security? I am having trouble finding a location I can schedule an interview at any time soon. I noticed ORD has times avail. when I will be in Chicago, but I won't be flying out of ORD. Would I be able to reach the place of interview without a ticket (go I have to go through security)?
I've tried calling several offices to ask, but always get a voicemail box and no call back.

Most interview locations are before security. At the few places that they are airside, i.e., IAH Terminal E, the Global Entry Enrollment Centers location guide will have the following notation: "Requires Boarding Pass."

Very helpful! A quick note, this is outside of security and the TSA lines ar HNL can be epic. Allow lots of time if youre flying, or connecting after your interview. Some very kind gentlemen at CBP reopened during lunch because i had flown in from a neighboring island for the interview and my flight was delayed. Much aloha there!

Global entry interview at ORD in-between connecting flights

I am planning to schedule global entry interview at ORD in-between my flight connections.
My domestic flight arrives at Terminal 3 around 2pm and international flight departs from terminal 5 around 8pm. So, I am thinking to schedule global entry interview at ORD instead of my home airport where there is no availability for next 5 months.. For a family of 4, last minute opening for 4 at my home airport is very rare..

Can anyone suggest what should I set as my interview time at ORD? It is a weekday.

Since the office is in Terminal 5, is it after clearing security or before? What doc other than passport do they require?

TIA.

If it was me, I would schedule it at 4 PM since you don't know if your plane will be late or not and you need time to get to the GE office.

The GE office is before security on the baggage level. Go here and search for global entry and select the gate you're coming from. This will give you the necessary directions.

Here's the list of things you need to bring.

I've merged your question into an existing discussion of the GE enrollment center at ORD.

Please take a look at the 4th post which has a detailed map of the arrivals level of Terminal 5 showing the exact location of the office.

Shouldn't be too bad. You'll take the train from T3 to T5 and the office is lower level pre-security in T5.

I'm try to schedule an appointment, the earliest time are in November at SFO. (God help me) I was looking at other enrollment centers and found acronyms that made no sense.
CSOTC
EOP
ETLN
FBTX
FOLA-Numbers-SS (Also had CT, PT, PWC, TS, LW)
FTSD
GEN-ZEE
IGEDCO
IPW2016
MAY-ACT
NITX
PER-ALL
TTON
VSLB

Does anyone know where these enrollment centers are?

I haven't a clue where those are, however, the complete list of enrollment centers is here:
I strongly recommend that you check often for available appointment times; there frequently are new openings due to cancellations.

The story at SFO is always the same. The earliest GE appointment is 6 months away. Schedule it, and then return to the website every day. Within about 2 weeks you'll find something earlier has opened. Schedule that, and then keep returning. For both my wife and myself, after about 2-3 weeks of looking each day, we each got a date within 3 weeks away.

If you are traveling anywhere in the US and can book a window of time. Try ORD they had availability when I checked last. I booked a flight with a 3 hour layover then did it there. Also if you are going to San Diego anytime the San Ysidro location had openings.

For me SFO had a 6 month wait. Chicago was 1 week.

People are always rescheduling their appt so things open up if you keep looking and are creative. It may take a little work but you can definitely find appts that open up. Not sure if they still do it, but IAH used to have one plane side that often had availability and took walk ins.

When my husband scheduled his appt, the earliest one in BOS was after 4 of his upcoming trips. I told him to keep an eye on other locations within driving distance and the next morning, EWR had an opening late Sat morning. We drove down and did it there and visited some friends in the process. 6 days total from filling in the application to finishing his enrollment appt.

Have you been to the GE enrollment centers web page? I think that would answer where they all are.
