I concur with the first question as the most likely - you need to enter your number in your profile for every airline, it's not automatic.

I don't think it's that it only comes up on your BP 75% of the time, it's that you're not always cleared to use the pre-check line. I've had the notation on every boarding pass for every airline as far as I can recall for the last many months, but 10-20% of the time I get the red/1 beep as opposed to the green/3 beep and need to go through the normal screening process.

Anecdotal experience on AA seems to indicate that the Precheck notation on BP means that PreCheck expedited screening was granted for that segment. I don't recall any reports on AA of Precheck printing on BP and the passenger not getting expedited screening for that segment.

When PC shows on your BP, you have been pre-selected for PC for that segment. Period. Nonetheless, TSA randomly does pull a very small % of PC-approved pax for standard screening as part of the randomness of the checkpoint. If it's happening regularly, there is some other problem.

OP and his wife are US Permanent residents and they don't give any Pre-Check to US Permanent residents with GE or NEXUS because green card holders are not eligible under old rules. I guess Green card holdes must apply again under new program where green card holders are eligible. That is a totally BS.

You should be able to get TSA-Pre with Delta (as green card holder) as long as your Known Traveler number is on your Delta profile.

I just came back from a trip with my parents who are green card holders, and they both got TSA pre-check both ways.

We all got TSA-Pre check by getting Global Entry.

I'm also a permanent resident with Global Entry. At least about a year ago, it seemed that non-US citizens can only get pre-check through airline status. Not sure about the current situation now that they started to give pre-check to random pax with no status.

My experience: I used to get pre-check through UA status, then it suddenly stopped when I got approved for Global Entry and put my pass ID (known traveler #) into my profile. I started to get pre-check again only after I removed the number.

I do have the correct KTN applied under my airlines profile and both times me or my wife did not get TSA Pre, whereas my daughter who is a US Citizen got TSA pre both times upon checking in.

However i applied and got approved for NEXUS today and the US Customs officer told me that my Indian passport is connected to my Global Entry card and not the Green card, so that is a possible reason we will not get TSA Pre unless we get a US Passport or link the existing Indian passport number in the DHS system to our Global Entry card. I asked him if he could change that and link it, but he mentioned that he handles only NEXUS applications.

The officer told us while approving us for Global Entry that we will not qualify for TSA Pre since we are not US Citizens and that benefit is only provided to US Citizens. I think its incorrect information as a few of my friends who are permanent residents get Tsa Pre often while traveling. I think i might have to call the Global Entry helpdesk and get this sorted out.

Same here

I have the same problem. I recently got global entry, but I never got the recheck status.

Did you call global entry? What did they say?

Got Global Entry and not getting through PreCheck

I am just curious if this is happening to anyone else. If so, any advice how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

About one year ago, I applied for and got Global Entry. However, over 20 years ago I was arrested and charged with a DUI while in college. I paid my debt to society and had record expunged. I only travel internationally about 2-3 times a year, but take about 25-30 domestic trips a year. Several years ago Delta put me into the TSA pre-check along with other Diamond/Platinum members. Prior to GE, I would get "rejected" for Pre-Check only about 10% of the time (best guess as I didn't keep accurate records). However, since I have gotten my Global Entry, I have been rejected for Pre-Check exactly 100% of the time - that's right I have not qualified even one time in the last year.

When I travel internationally, I always get requested for additional screening at the Kiosk. One very nice CBP agent told me with the arrest record on my profile this will always happen to me, so I am a little suspicious that the GE application and profile is causing an issue with TSA Pre-Check. Anyway, not sure what to do from here, but also wanted any others to be aware because I would trade waiting in immigration lines 2-3 times per year versus domestic lines 25-30 times per year anytime.

Have you put your 9 digit Trusted Traveler # (PASS ID #) in the TT field under "Secure Flight" info in your airline's profile? If not, this could be your problem. Your TT# can be found after you log in on the GOES site.

Something doesn't add up. OP IS in GE, so his prior arrest (and expungement) must have satisfied them. Prior to his being GE, TSA cleared him (for pre-check) often, so his prior record was OK with them also. Now that he IS in GE he doesn't get pre-check. (1)As in post #2, make sure you associate your "GE number" with your DL profile. (2)Double (triple) check that there are NO spelling errors, names in wrong fields etc.
PS: Does pre-check show on your bp(s)?

Are you getting "X" on your GE slip? If they didn't "like" you they wouldn't have accepted you in the program.
Go to your account on GE and see if there are any irregularities.

Thanks for the advice. On TSA pre-check, I have verified by Trusted Traveler number at least twice. Most recently removed it in profile and just re-entered it on an individual ticket (which will travel next week on).

With regards to GE, yes, I get the giant "X" every time. Interesting to note, in my conversations with CBP officials, very friendly, then they always get very serious, look me straight in the eye and ask "have you ever been arrested?" Essentially, if you lie to a CBP officer, you are automatically removed from the program. Same thing happened during my GE interview. For those of us who did a stupid thing in college once and subsequently had record expunged (e.g., in the eyes of the laws of the US - it never happened), it is an easy question to get tripped up on and I am sure that there are some FF out there who have gotten tripped up on it.

I will see if I have better luck with PreCheck in 2014. Otherwise, I am seriously considering dropping GE with the hope that somehow I can "reboot" my PreCheck, but not optimistic about it.

Also permanent resident here. I received it a couple of times before I put in my global entry. Since I put that number I have gotten it zero times (on roughly 20+ flights)

I read somewhere that they might expand the program soon so if anyone hears anything please post
