Well if the LHR experience is T5 it really does not surprise me.

On a positive note, I arrived at T5 on Sunday night around 9 pm and there was nobody in the Fast Track immigration queue. Got through in a minute or two (though IRIS would still have been quicker)!

Had my GE interview last night at Miami and was told by the C&BP officer that no new applications are being processed for UK residents. Apparently due to the UK not agreeing a reciprocal programme. So at the end of the 5 year validity it will revert to the old system. Let's hope that it gets resolved within that timescale.

The process took about 10 mins. Just a couple of questions about why I need GE. Email confirmation received within an hour.

As long as you have a code from Larry then you can still apply (as I understand it).

I understood that irrespective of whether the UK enters into a reciprocal arrangement, anyone already approved for GE would be renewed assuming all the checks come back fine. This stop on UK applications only applies to new applications.

Larry codes expired on 12/31, so unless the process started before then it's closed off. Larry stopped giving out codes in Nov.

Am I too late/early?

I'm a UK passport holder and travel frequently to NY, so desperate for Global Entry. From the research I've done, it seems I've missed the trial and am too early for the full launch. Am I correct or can someone here help me?? Thanks in advance

No new code numbers have been given out for several months. Of course this may change and it's worth watching FT for news of a new batch of codes being made available.

Used Global Entry at LAX last week. Very quick entry, and a special queue to get through customs as well. Not too well signposted due to lots of construction work going on. It takes longer to get back into my own country!

Both my VX flights gave me precheck which was a bit confusing as there was no dedicated line at LAX. A woman was saying shoes can be left on if you have precheck and to hold out your BP as you go through the metal detector, but wasn't clear about the liquids and things as it was a mixed use lane. Not sure how they'd know which bags were which.

Haven't had a chance to use global entry since being approved but my last couple of trips to LAS there wasn't a separate customs line and there was a huge line. The GE kiosks by the side of the hall had a lane barrier at the front of the line, so no idea where you'd go with your ticket, except to sort of push the barrier to the side and push in front of everyone else in the US Resident line.

I wasn't shown how to use the kiosks or anything else at my interview, though I assume its pretty self explanatory, its just what you do then in those situations thats a little confusing to me

There's a similar issue at Miami where if you follow the signs as a non-US Citizen you can't get to the GE kiosks. However, I spotted them and went under the barrier and used the kiosk. It's really straightforward to use, insert passport and scan 4 fingers and out pops a printout you take to the GE line at immigration. There was also a special 'crew and GE' customs line. The Virgin Atlantic crew seemed a bit unhappy that regular passengers appeared to be slowing them down.

As a Brit I entered the US at TPA using GE for the first time a few weeks ago. The kiosks are easy to find (sharp right when entering immigration hall) and use. Just follow the instructions on the screen and answer the questions. There's no need to complete the hand-written customs form as the machine does it for you. I was through immigration within minutes and got to the customs area before my wife, who is a US citizen (but does not have GE), even though there were only a few folk in the citizens line. It was quicker than coming into the UK on our return. I was very impressed.

As golfmad says, it's quite simple. You do have to pick what type of visa you are entering on, probably a WT (waiver-tourist) or a WB (waiver-business) and look at the camera for a pic. I was looking around a bit to work out where the camera is though. It's at the top of the machine.

On the way out I was offered a customs form from the crew and was told I had to do one. I explained I had global entry and did it electronically but he insisted everyone had to do a form, so I took one anyway and left it on the plane.

Came through in Chicago in March on UA from LHR. Was wearing a baseball cap and was looking down, so the photo didn't clearly identify me, but no one seemed to care.

It sure was nice not having the usual grilling from Immigration.........No questions at all except to verify (electronically) that I was coming in on an E2 visa!

Yeah, I even got through and collected my bag before the flight crew breezed through..........Which was nice because I was able to say goodbye to a flight attendant I was chatting up on the plane!

Hmm, had my interview at ORD around lunchtime yesterday but no signs of confirmation of completion of enrollment, even when I log into my GOES account. Looking at the above though, everyone seems to have gotten theirs at most a couple of hours after interview. (Despite someone saying it can take up to 72 hours)

Did anyone else's take longer than a few hours?

Maybe give them a quick call and see if they can check it's been completed ok?
