Very useful - the Disclosure setup has now moved to PVG but still gives you a cert on registration for the scheme - I'll make use of that existing one rather than paying for an extra ACPO one then!

Fortuitously, I had charged the fee to my Amex card in August. I just checked my online transactions and hey presto there's an automatic credit from Amex for the fee four days after the charge.

I don't know whether this applies to UK cards or not but it's perhaps worth investigating for those with a platinum or centurion Amex card.
No, sadly that's just a US AMEX card benefit

Bearing in mind the system is essentially for US passengers who travel reguarly, you can imagine why they would not necessarily be opening slots for December at this stage. In congested places, LAX for example, you have to wait until then for even the first slot.

I'd say you'd need to be visiting the States at least 3 or 4 times a year to go through this hassle and cost. When it was originally offered to GGLs the criteria was monthly visits!
Will look at doing this soon and hopefully find at slot at an airport somewhere along the way of my upcoming TP run to schedule the interview! From what I've read elsewhere they seem quite good at seeing folk at other times if they're not too busy.

PS keep an eye here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/pract...g-time-91.html seems non-US nationals are waiting well over a week for pre-approval.

Thanks for the info, just as a data point there is a UK-based poster in the tracking thread who has been waiting since August 22nd. I'm on 8 days myself, hopefully hear back within the next 10 days or so. I'm not in the US until October but I'll be in Miami, Orlando and Seattle (and Cayman!) so hopefully something works out

Bear in mind that some people may find their application is delayed for 'substantive' reasons e.g. travel history (etc etc).

My APCO certification seems to be taking a while to come back - unless it's signed for in which case I need to go pick it up from the post office at some point.

That's very true. With all due respect I was hoping that was the case, I have a fairly 'safe' travel history and have lived in the family home for over 15 years so we'll see if mine gets processed any faster

Unless you specifically requested it and paid extra, the cert is not 'signed-for'. It does come in a very official looking envelope though . I took the standard service and received mine back after about 8 days from receipt by APCO.

Still waiting on the clearance though - applied 5th September.

MrsNWIFlyer didn't receive the confirmation e-mail and rang the helpline to check hers had been received - they actually did what it says on the tin and were helpful! They will also give you a projected completion date - and they were inside the date they gave us by three days.

A good clue that the cert has been sent is that your cheque has been cashed - it showed on the bank statement the day before the cert arrived.

Question Global entry program-processing time for UK citizens

Hi I realise this thread covers processing time but at over 90 pages its hard to find UK nationals experience of Global Entry.

As its fairly recently opened up to the masses (for citizens of the United Kingdom at least) I thought a new thread may be useful for people on the UK side of the pond!

Apologies If another similar thread exists - I did a search and found nothing UK GE focused!
EDIT: found this in the BA forum - but doesn't cover processing times so no overlap!

This thread is a good read too - but again not mentioning processing much

I'd be interested to hear experiences from those who have completed the process on a UK passport.

To save people reading 90 odd pages of the above thread - Here's a list of posts (that I noticed) from people with a UK passport:

More Champagne Sir? p66 posts #998,#1003
jcm9000 p74,78,82 posts #1099, #1247
brownie1967 p84 post #1276
choirgirl p89 post #1345
adjonline p89,p90,p91 posts #1354, #1370, #1386
Full Score p90,91 posts #1367, #1389
sajgidda p91 post #1377
Silver Fox p91.p92 posts #1379, #1391

choirgirl & More Champagne seem the only approved ones so far!

Processing time from submission to conditional approval seems around 4 weeks...ıt was 23 days for me

There's much debate/confusion on weather you should use the Reference on the top right or the number on the bottom left of the certificate. I used the former as that's the reference I was told by the ACPO (and is the one on the covering letter/email.)

I doubt its a show stopper either way as long as the certificate states 'NO TRACE'

Anyway my timelines:
Request to Larry for code: 15th Aug - 11.20am
Code received: in 6 mins!!
Applied for the police certificate 16th Aug (standard service)
ACPO Acknowledged receipt 28th Aug - (I got the ACPO to confirm the ref in email is as on the certificate)
Submitted GE application 30th Aug and am still pending review.
Received actual paper certificate 4th September
Conditional approval 23rd September
Intervıew currently scheduled 7 Dec JFK

I really should have waited to get the piece of paper but wanted to submit ASAP due to the processing times (and my next trip being in Dec)

Fortunately the certificate states no trace...

September 3rd here. Believe there are two posters who applied on August 22nd and September 5th, both from the UK and both still 'Pending Review'

This page says that if you have certain types of visa, you will be referred for primary inspection the first time you use Global Entry.

That's what happened to me at EWR the first time I used Global Entry. Everything seemed to work OK, but the machine gave me a receipt with an X. The CBP officer told me it was a fingerprint problem, but then I found the page from the Flux website.

The second time I used Global Entry, everything worked flawlessly and I was able to exit JFK T7 in minutes, even though we had landed just behind a 777 from Tokyo.

Of course, the information on that page may only apply to Privium members and there really was a fingerprint problem, but as I say, everything seemed to be working correctly, including the fingerprint match.

Thanks - so no one has gone through end-to-end yet?
(From the UK - I mean)

I thought exec BA members could apply for a while now?

Just received an email about my police certificate. They confirmed they have received it on the 9th Sep and will now start dealing with it.

The code on the subject of the email you've received is your certificate number. Take off the letters and the slashes and you have your code and you can now complete the online GOES form. (presuming of course you have a GE code already).

Quite a few people already have it, but they tend to be BA Golds (and above) who applied a long time ago, the processing time tracking is only really useful for people who applied at roughly the same time. As I'm sure you've noticed, US Citizens applying today would probably have their approval within 48 hours (understandably) but the times are much, much longer for foreign nationals

The first I heard of this was in the thread on the BA board, I tend to fly American and they didn't have any useful information for me, I only got mine by emailing the GE Rep who graciously offered to help so many of us out with codes. To be honest, if I have to wait until October just for clearance I think it will be difficult to get an appointment during my next trip, but we all just have to wait and see. Hopefully they start getting through the UK applications

Ah, that is good to know, thanks. Though I do wonder if I should wait just in case, though I've no reason to suspect it will not say "no trace".

If you've never been arrested then why wait? You have nothing to hide.
