This thread is about the processing time for first time NEXUS applicants.
Applications to replace existing Global Entry memberships with NEXUS are handled differently than applying for NEXUS for the first time or renewing it. All aspects of that process - including timelines - are discussed in the following thread:
Several recent posts were moved to that thread.

My theory about Mr. FQ's quick processing (quicker than my renewal, I think) is that he has both passports, and his US passport was just renewed within the previous month, so both countries already have a certain amount of their own fresh data about him.
I agree there can also be luck involved, e.g., just making it into a batch for processing.

GOES phone number
What's the phone number to call to follow up on the application? I couldn't find it anywhere.

Applied: late March, 2017 (Paper)
Credit Card Charged: May 18, 2017
Conditional Approval: August 29, 2017
(After I called again that morning to ask what was taking so long, it was approved on GOES within 2 hours. The officer I spoke to that day decided to actually look into the situation and contact the US to formally inquire about the delay. Who knows how much longer I would have had to wait without her assistance. Super appreciative for her help.)
Interview: September 05, 2017 - Blaine
Approved: September 07, 2017
Card arrived:

Thanks.
I just dropped off my papers instead of mailing them at the Montreal processing centre, since I'm always near it and I figured it'd save me the postage effort: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexu...l#_Application

Applied online on August 15th
Conditionally approved on September 15th
First interview available December 5th
I applied with my wife and my two little boys, I'm hoping they get approved soon so I can get their appointment booked. We have a trip on December 23.

Hi,
I am in almost the same situation as you are.
We sent our paper request at the beginning of June 2017, my wife's and two children applications were conditionally approved in about a month or so but mine is still pending... I tried to call them in the late august, they told me that US side is holding my application, they said it is normal and there is nothing to worry about. But it already 3 + months of waiting and no results yet
