Nexus Processing Time

Hi redhead1792,

What number did you call at? When I called US and Canada numbers all they told me was "Pending Review". They could not tell whether one side has approved or not.

Regards.

Seattle Washington Application Process:

Applied 09/22/13
Conditionally approved 10/28/13
First available interview in Seattle 04/30/13
Rescheduled to 11/29/13
Approval email two hours after interview

Interview was easy and low key, about 5 minutes for USBP and CBP individually. The CBP officer was shocked when she asked me when my trip to Canada was scheduled and I replied "I don't have one". When I explained I simply wanted Nexus for the Global Entry she responded "smart, half the price". The CBP officer was quite friendly and overall a very positive experience.

Good grief, yeah. Try late June for my daughter.

Does converting to GE make sense here?

Applied 12.9.13
Pending Review
Have int'l travel starting end of April, so hoping to have Nexus/GE all wrapped up by then.

Does anyone know if we can transfer or switch our Nexus applications to GE only, since the processing time is 1/10th that of Nexus?

There is an option to switch to GE after you're conditionally approved.

Thanks davie355!

To your knowledge, is this done through the GOES website (and will that option be readily intuitive), or do I have to call someone at one of the NEXUS centers?

Pretty sure you can do it online. Upon my conditional approval I saw two key links on GOES: (1) to schedule an appointment at a NEXUS enrollment center, and (2) to switch to Global Entry. I am not sure exactly what switching to GE at that point would have entailed, as I chose to proceed with NEXUS enrollment.

Best of luck to you ^

If you are waiting "patiently" in Vancouver for an Nexus interview I have some very good news...Until February 20/14 you can take your interview downtown Vancouver at Canada Place. There appears to be ""lots of spots" every day, from now until the 20th...Don't know why and don"t care, I was approved Friday 24 Jan. have appointment Tuesday 28th..
On your GOES page look up location under Canada Place, enjoy ....

When one applies online through the GOES site, would not think it makes any difference whether an American or Canadian is the one applying for a Nexus card. I recently applied December 27/13 and have conditional approval as of Jan. 24/14, 4 weeks....

Is this normal? Can I just drop by the YOW centre and be interviewed? Or am I going to have to wait until July 12?

Thanks
Try Lansdowne enrollment center. It is about 1hr drive from Ottawa. I got my app in 10 days there at the beginning of the month.

That sounds more like 4 weeks. Better than the 8 - 12 weeks the told me by phone.

I checked this forum when I applied and was given a lot of great advice, so here's my results.

Applied 12/18/2013 (I am Canadian)
Received Conditional Approval 1/27/2014 (5.5 weeks)
Interview Date first available was 3/30/2014 at Detroit, rescheduled for 1/30/2014 as it was available.

Thanks for all the help when I was applying.

Yes, I echo lastcall519 - Thank you for all the advice/help! Much appreciated.

Update:
All four of us (my family) applied Dec 29 within minutes of each other (as fast as I could hit submit, logout, login, submit, etc.)
2 conditional approvals received yesterday, Jan 29 (the kids), but not the other 2 (us parents).
First interview opening in Seattle: Aug 7th
Will be switching all of us to Global Entry - don't have the time to sit and refresh at a computer every 5 minutes all day.
