Mr. Princeville applied for renewal August 18 (shortly before it expired).
Approved without interview September 25.
Now that that's done he can start the process of replacing the passport he washed.

I applied for renewal July 26, received conditional approval August 24 and I had my interview to renew Friday Sept 21. My current GE expires end of October. My husband's renewal application was approved within 2.5 weeks and without an additional interview and we had visited the same countries together.
I was told I at the end of my interview I would hear about the approval decision in 1-2 business days (which I had read in the FAQ section). However, I still haven't heard anything, no email, no update to the application on the website, or anything. So it's been 6 business days since my interview. I'm not sure if there is some sort of limbo queue it's hung up in and I wouldn't even know who to contact even if I should. Has anybody else gone through this?

Applied for renewal 9/11 (very shortly after expiration). Waiting on conditional/full approval. Fingers crossed, FT! Heading INTL soon and hoping this clears.

I applied for renewal on Sept 10th, and I am in "Pending Review" status. I think I have another couple of weeks to go before a decision but I intend to post back here when I get it. I check it every day as it seems that they don't send an email from their website: "Please remember to revisit our website for your application status updates." Which seems a little 1990s but there it is. Perhaps there is an email, hopefully I will find out soon.

I submitted renewal on Aug 8th and was conditionally approved on Sep 13th. I had to go for appointment, they took new picture and fingerprints and confirmed approval. I got an email a short while later that the status of my application had changed and I received new card in 3 days. JB

They do indeed, but a bunch of those emails from DHS (as also from the US State Department) go straight into the SPAM folders. Yet another reason to check those Spam folders.

My GE expired in mid-August. Submitted application 8/29, conditionally approved 10/2, lucked into interview on 10/3 (otherwise would have been early Nov), and was approved after new picture & fingerprints. Had changed address and job since last application. Probably use precheck for 3-4 roundtrips per month, GE for 2-4 international trips per year (most very short for business reasons)
My wife’s GE also expired at the same time. Submitted her application on 9/2, approved w/out interview on 9/13. Had changed address but not job. She flys 4-5 times a year with one international trip, all for leisure
I asked during my interview why it took so long to be approved - no red flags on my application so the agent guessed it was because I travel so frequently or that my picture was unclear and needed to be updated. I was very happy to finally get approved, it has been a really rough traveling without precheck! For my one international trip without GE, I used mobile passport which was at least as good, if not better, at getting through immigration in Boston

It feels absolutely random as to why some take longer, and others don't.

The longer a renewal application takes to get beyond the pending review status, the more likely the person is going to have to go in for an interview to get beyond conditional approval for the renewal application.

Some renewal members with conditional approval get up to around 365 days from conditional approval date to schedule — distinct from having — “the interview”.
The wiki fails to reflect this fact.
For example, from a renewal application that got conditionally approved yesterday:
”Schedule your appointment as soon as possible. If you do not select an appointment date by October 04, 2019, your application will be deleted from the system. You will be required to resubmit your application and pay the application fee again.”

So be it; but you would think that they would be able to get to that stage pretty quickly if some sort of flag is evident. I am certain they are not sitting there, in wherever "there" is, poring over every single aspect of my life, nor would they be able to. My pattern of entry to the US is consistent, never been in trouble in any country, UKBF code came back within 24 hours (whatever that contains or links to for CBP), and if there is something amiss I would have thought they would pick it up quickly. As I say I don't mind if I have to schedule an interview but they seem to take a long time to get to that stage which is odd. Perhaps it is peak season for renewals/applications and the wait time is longer than normal. Anyway, it is what it is.
