List of Global Entry Enrollment Centers

Post your walk-in experiences in the Wiki. If you cannot update the Wiki, then please post in the thread, and someone will paste your data point. Please format it as such under the enrollment center where you attempted to walk-in:

Yes/No [If Yes, put how long you waited in brackets] (Date and time attempted)

If someone in your family had an appointment at that time, please note that, too.

Examples:
Yes [45m] (4/2/2016 10am w/ a family member who had an appointment)
Yes [2h] (4/18/2016 3pm)
No (5/2/2016 12pm w/ a family member who had an appointment)
Yes [25m] (5/10/2016 9am)

Disclaimer: These are only data points. There is no guarantee you will be successful as a walk-in.

When this thread started, there was no Trusted Traveler forum to collect and organize discussion on Global Entry and related programs. As FlyerTalk now has such a forum, I'll move this thread to it. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.

I went to BOS yesterday for my renewal interview. I was 30 minutes early, and the officer took me right away. The whole process took five minutes (Check IDs, new picture, new fingerprints).

That's a NEXUS office, not a GE office.

No walk-ins at Newark 2/14

Just to add to the combined knowledge, tried to walk-in at Newark. Was told by appointment only and that I couldn't take a cancellation (it's a snowy day here, so it's very likely that there were cancellations.

Any recent experiences at JFK? Wondering if walk-ins are permitted again.

I can only comment on EWR:

Tried to walk-in on a Saturday afternoon with lots of time on my hand and expecting to be turned away. I explained that I had a Monday evening appointment but the Saturday would be more convenient. I was told that it was not possible as they were very busy and I should come back for my appointment. They did not explicitly say they don't accept walk-ins and had it been less busy with several no-shows they may have accommodated me (pure speculation of course). It doesn't hurt to try IMHO (with no expectations) if you are there anyway.

I then returned for my interview at the scheduled time and completed it.

We were at EWR last week for my husband's GE interview. While we were waiting for him to be called in, someone showed up and asked about being a walk-in and was told that they don't take walk-ins.

They were not taking anyone early either. We were 45 min early but he was called in at his exact appt time. They were not pleased at all if/when someone was late.

Has anyone tried to do a walk-in at LAS? When I asked them a couple weeks ago they said no, but I just wonder if anyone has tried and what happened when you got there?

I had my renewal interview at JFK (T4) a few weeks ago. When you entered the office, you signed in via a book at the entrance. There were one or two people who did not have appointments, but got to speak with an agent. One of these was sent away; I only got a little piece of his issue, he said CPB in T1 "instructed" him to go to GE (T4), he got into a slight argument when he was turned away.

Sitting at the BOS global entry "waiting area" now for a walk-in. There's just three chairs in a small hallway outside the secured area of terminal E. You sit outside a secure door waiting for someone to pop out and call a name. It seems like that's your only chance to talk with anyone. You just have to sit and hope someone doesn't show up so you can take their spot.

There's three of us waiting for a walk-in now. Friday afternoon on Memorial Day weekend was probably not the best choice. One guy who was waiting for his appointment said mornings might be best. He tried to walk in as well and failed but ended up finding a closer appointment time after checking a bit. I'm probably going to give up after waiting for over an hour.

DTW north terminal might be a better location for the OP, but means having to fly over to DTW on Southworst or American.

We were able to get back to back appointments in late March on a date that was convenient for us.

Anyone have any current experience with walk-in interviews at LAX? We're flying out in July, but the earliest interview date is in September. I will be checking the website, but a walk-in would be great if I could get one.

Best time for walk-in interview in Charlotte?

I have an upcoming trip in September and would like to have Global Entry available then; I applied for it online, received a conditional acceptance and would like to do the interview in Charlotte (CLT) but no interviews are available whatsoever in CLT, so the alternative is to drive to Atlanta, which is silly.

If I just appear in CLT at the Global Entry office, is there a best time (and a worst time to avoid) to try to just do a walk-in interview? I assume that if I appear when the office first opens on a Tuesday-Thursday, I'm most likely to be taken?

In addition, do I need to go through security to get to the Global Entry office in CLT?

Thanks.
