At least they cut and mail the card out quickly. Could you describe what is printed on the back of the card?
There are blocks for country validity want to know what is in that... As I suspected on the Visa side... |

What on earth is the purpose of this card then?
(Maybe there will be some visa courtesy-- like expedited processing-- but that is pure speculation). |

This is a boost for those of use who go to those places often. If you don't care to clear immigration/border control quicker and DON'T ever encounter lines then this is not for you. I'll take it though....

So as a follow up, I was able to get my signature collected at JFK today. So I can happily report that atleast the JFK facility is now completely setup to process this application. (atleast on one computer, as they only have a single e-signature pad.)
Cheers |

At the border, you can use the crew lanes in APEC countries. That's it for now. But this is a big benefit for NRT and HKG and some others. Also works in Canda.

Just went to YVR Nexus office to try to get my signature captured and they have the equipment but software not set up yet...
PDX GE enrollment center said they haven't heard about this at all...both SEA GE enrollment center and Nexus office asked me to check back with them on Monday...we'll see... |
I applied for this today and within minutes had conditional approval to schedule an interview or just walk in to any enrollment center. Will give an update after I stop by a center.

Hello, everyone! It would very helpful if some of our more knowledgable and/or experienced posters in this thread would be so kind as to start a basic Wikipost to help other members to better understand the process, and keep track of how the rollout is proceeding... ?
Thanks to all who've contributed thus far! ~Moderator |

(Maybe there will be some visa courtesy-- like expedited processing-- but that is pure speculation). With HKG I have had an express e-channel service for many years so no time saving there and this service is free. With NRT agree there could be some big savings. Canada and USA both have Global Entry and/or Nexus at most ports so I cannot see an advantage. If there is visa courtesy of course this is very interesting. Also for PRC if able to use the APEC lanes this is a big time saver particularly at PEK, PVG, and SHA- however my understanding was that you can only use the APEC lanes for the countries "valid for travel". Is that not correct- you can use for any APEC country as long as you have the card? And for example how does that reciprocate for APECN card holders entering the United States- can they use the crew entry posts? Thanks for any insight- this just seems like a very strange implementation at the moment. |
