Another data point. I applied for GE on 04/11 and got conditionally approved today 04/20. Green card holder since 04/11. Applied for GE on the same day. I travel internationally a fair amount; have moved around a lot, so I was concerned all of that information may slow down my approval. Next interview available at my local airport is May 9, but I plan to do a walk-in today. Pretty excited!

That's great news, looks like at least they are processing the new applications and should catch up with the queue soon.. I applied 2 weeks after my GC in Feb. All data is straight forward, never moved from my initial address. Still waiting, hopefully, I will have GE soon

How long does one have to wait for approval? Is there anything you can do to accelerate the process? Is there anyone you can call or complain too? Is the government really this slow? This is getting ridicules. Been waiting for approval since early February 2019 for CA. This makes you not have that much confidence in the process or the program.

This thread is replete with approval timelines data points.
One of our members plotted a graph of recent waits for conditional approvals.

Where CA took more than two weeks, recent posts have been in the 68-71 days range and the latest application date in the group was 31 Jan. For the 'fast' turnarounds (and I don't know what the significance of this might be), most of the recent ones have been 11 days whereas a month ago it would have typically been 7 days.

Applied 2/10/19 (Sunday)
Conditional Approval 4/23/19 (72 days)
Interview scheduled 4/24/19 SFO
Approved 4/24/19 (on the spot)
"Interview" seems like a mere formality to take fingerprints and a picture for the card and read parts of the instructions he gave me. He told me it was approved and the status showed approved when I checked it online an hour later. The card is only needed for land travel from Mexico and Canada (possibly cruise ships too). He said air travel does not need the card and you just have to scan the passport (which is tied to your account) at the Global Entry Kiosk
The program randomly or deterministic-ally picks applicants for further investigation. Based on other similar programs, if they don't hear back negatively within a certain period (perhaps 2 months), they get approved. I have an active TSAPre that was coming up for renewal and thought it would be quicker, but there was no place for me to enter that info and I got picked for the additional scrutiny.
