Good luck to you all.

In a boilerplate response to my inquiry, CBP says now it can take up to six months to process an application. When I applied in July it said it could take up to 11 weeks, then it went to 150 days, and now we're at six months.

Looks like we are in for a wait.

I applied first week of Oct 2019 and CA on Oct 14, 2019. However, applications for my spouse and kid are still pending although applied on the same day as mine. So, puzzled.....

Looks like we may be one of the longest waiting here

Applied for our GEs on May 27. I received CA on Oct 28 (154 Days).

Other half still awaiting CA - 177 Days and counting. We have escalated via the phone number mentioned above but only get the standard response back with the average processing time being 4-6 months for GE. Only 1 week away from six months so will escalate again.

Apparently not as random as we thought... Took my mother in law for her interview today... I asked the agent why my infant daughter was taking so long, since they applied the same week. He said, since she's a newborn, she is not priority and will take longer to review and approve.

I don't get that response. Being a newborn, she should be a quick and simple approval. Unless infants are suddenly staging murders and dealing drugs, there's nothing to come up.

I don't buy it. On July 3, 2019, my friend applied for Global Entry for her daughter who was born on March 30. She was conditionally approved in the early morning hours of July 8. Interview and final approval were on July 12 (NY metro area).

Newborns are actually probably the best way to test the randomness theory. No newborn has a criminal record or any questionable history that would result in them needing extra scrutiny. If, however, they share name and/or DOB with someone who is a "bad guy", then the system could automatically put them in the extra scrutiny line.

Does your newborn have an extremely common name? If so, my guess is that increases your chances of him/her taking a long time to process.

It could be that a newborn requires a background check on the parents. I have no idea if this is actually a requirement, just speculation.
