I think there are plenty of people who applied in August who haven't posted about their experience because they have no expectation of getting approved quickly. There are some people who are approved quickly, but that doesn't seem to be the norm.
According to a July 31, 2019 article in the Washington Post, CBP said that approximately 65-70 % of applications and renewals are processed in 15 days or less, and about 25 % of applications have a processing time greater than 90 days.

Of course, most people who's applications and renewals are processed quickly have no reason to search the internet for reasons why. Those others who randomly fall into the >90 day category find FT and threads like this.

From this and other FT threads, the current "long" processing time seems to be about 116-118 days. Be patient.

Now at day 109 for my 8 year-old son so it seems even children can be caught up in the backlog. Fortunately we are not traveling until December when we will all do interview on arrival at DFW.

I hope that timeline is still valid.

A final update.
My Girlfriend applied 4/25
CA on 8/20

She tried to do interview upon arrival but would of missed her flight in Houston.
Scheduled interview in Miami for 8/23 at 6:45 pm.
Kept checking and that morning there was an opening at Sanford Orlando on 8/24 at 10 am.
Was at the appointment 15 minutes early. She got called in right away. The gentleman helping her
remembered me from back in June when I went for mine. She was in and out before her actual
scheduled interview. Checked the site and already updated with approved. She should get her
card sometime this week if it goes like mine did. Then we can use it when we return from Japan
on the 21st.

Good luck to all those waiting it out.

Interview: SFO 8/26/2019, final approval same day

Originally, the next available appointment for SFO was 12/22/19, but I have a trip coming up in September so I was looking for cancellations. Some brilliant mind created a twitter bot that tweets every time someone cancels an appointment, and I was able to snag one just a couple days after my conditional approval. Heads up, appointment times get snatched up within 1-4 minutes so be ready to move fast.

Apparently I can't post links here yet. You can follow the SFO interview notification bot here: twitter . com /GOESbot

Finally!!! FYI...I purposely did not escalate as I have no pending trips and wanted to see if it actually had an affect...but it appears it does not matter according to the timelines of others that are either waiting or have received their CA in and around the same timeline as me. Now on to the next hurdle of getting an appointment.

Applied: 4/30/2019
CA: Approved, 119 days
Escalated: None

My daughter and I had our GE interview today at JFK. We arrived about 20 minutes early and were take in together about 20 after our appointment time. There were a lot of people waiting when we got there. The waiting room was full and we had to wait out in the terminal area. The interview involved the the Officer confirming our info, took pics and prints. He gave us a quick rundown and said that we should be active tomorrow. In and out in 10 minutes for the 2 of us. Meanwhile my wife is still waiting for CA. The Officer said that there was still a backlog of people still waiting for CA from the gov't shutdown.
After the interview we took the airtrain to T5 and walked over to the TWA hotel. It was cool.

Anybody going to JFK for their interview should park in the T4 lot at the opposite end of the lot from the parking garage.

All the evidence here suggests youll get reviewed imminently and that escalation does nothing but take time on the phone. Im also May 1st and havent escalated, so we compare - but it seems like this week is likely.

I applied on 4/30. Hopefully I will be approved soon. Did you receive an email notification of the approval?

Applied 5/11 (Saturday so we should assume 5/13).
Still waiting but not planning to escalate because no trips planned. CA should be imminent (couple of weeks).
When I log in, I see a membership # / PASSID. When does that get assigned? I never checked it in early days but noticed it recently and I am not sure if it was assigned from day 1 or is it a recent change.

CA update

Just wanted to provide an update for people keeping track. I applied for GE on 5/14 and waited until the 100th day to escalate and just received notification for CA tonight.

Applied: 5/14
Escalated: 8/22
CA: 8/27
Total wait time: 105 days

Seems like escalating might help, so worth a try. Good luck to everyone waiting!
