ATL airport
After exiting the plane and in the gate area, I was in Concourse E for the first time. I had always been in T, A, or B, never been to C, D, or E before. Much newer than the others. Went right to the underground tram, got off at B. We were at B14 today. Mom went to go get food (I requested donut with egg sandwich). I thought the number on the front landing gear panel said ‘941’ so I took it as that. Looking at the GID, it still had that it was going to RIC. When the GA came by, that changed. Mom came back with scrambled eggs and bacon. Ate that as my breakfast, apparently mom didn’t find any DD. There was one FA that was just sitting by the gate desk, was still there when we boarded. Then I am on my final leg back home, on another Mad Dog.

As soon as you walked on the plane you could tell something was wrong. It was quiet that morning. No pre-boarding music, just the sound of the Mad Dog. Just one pre-departure announcement during boarding. The lead didn’t even know the name of BOS (he called it Boston International Airport). You could tell this crew was most likely new FA’s. Just before pushback, a guy came up on the ramp and loaded a few more bags onto the plane. Could feel the bags being dropped on from the seat. Pushed back, and taxied out to the parallel runway of that we landed on. 10 planes or so behind waiting to take off. Fast and high climbing takeoff. Captain turned off the fasten seatbelt sign at 10,000 feet. Bought wifi and it was good. Originally some problems with GoGo with the account, but I was typing in the wrong thing. Typical snack service. I needed to use the bathroom, so I started going back, but the lead said to come up front and use the FC bathroom. Fast forwarding, I checked my flight tracker to see where we were, and at the time we were over DC going 601 MPH. So needless to say big tail winds going on. Fast forwarding again, we landed on 33L, there were a few planes taking off on 27, and that was it. Taxied by the B6 wing of terminal C to gate A17. Everything normal from there, but when I looked to the plane from the escalator going down to the tunnel, it actually said “N946DL” so apparently I read the numbers wrong in ATL.

thanks for that great report.
It brought back some good memories for me. The first time I travelled to Ohio, was on NW from HNL-MSP-CMH When I checked in, the cheery guy asked me where I was travelling to, and I said Columbus Ohio, and he asked why??!!? and laughed :( I remember that the FA kept asking me to repeat myself, and called a colleague over and said "say something in your accent honey" Maybe they weren't used to Australians on that route  When we got to MSP I have to admit I was a little taken aback by their accents too :) |
Small ammendments to the ATL-BOS post.
Thanks. |
