Give them a bit of time...the first flight was only yesterday and they are probably jet lagged.

The first VA 001 landed in LAX 35 hours ago.

I too was looking for a TR.

Saw a TV news report on Channel Ten in Sydney 24 hrs ago -of the first flight - reporter on board - also showed the Fire Truck water salute at LAX and the breaking of the gate ribbon at LAX.

It all looked awesome!!!

Sir Richard you have kicked some red tail butt!! yet again.

Well done

According to the news, some luggage missed the flight...! Oops...

Branson also made sure everyone knows his business class seat is a whole 12 inches longer than Qantas'. Branson was very impressed by his 12 inches.

Mental image:
Mine's bigger than yours, pitch!
Bring on those TRs, V FTers! ^

Slightly OT...
Depending on the level of interest in:
  • V Australia trip reports
  • V Australia bookings
  • V Australia mileage crediting (via Velocity or to other FFPs)
  • V Australia RTW fare in conjunction with associate Virgin Atlantic
  • Velocity as a FFP
  • Velocity as an alternative miles bank for credit card miles earning
  • Velocity's showing in the Freddies (?)

[V Australia google news]
One day we might get sufficient interest to get VirginBlue/V Aust Velocity to secede from the QF forum (and the occasional Other South Pacific FFPs threads).

A collection of V Australia trip reports could help.

I've read some travel stories on the flights, praising the retro interiors 'where Austin Powers might feel at home'.

Maybe it all depends on the usefulness of the FFP miles to FTers?

Thanks, restless! You beat me to posting that link. FYI, I was on the first flight (after flying in from the US the day before, to do it) and got to experience the media circus as well as the airline. It was tremendous fun and I think I'm now an addict of those rare inaugural flights.

Folks, if you thought about going, but didn't, you missed out. I'll be talking about the fun I had chatting with other passengers who were glad to be there (most of whom worked for some part of Virgin Group) and checking out the new airline and meeting folks, for years.

I took dozens of pictures, too. I'll be putting them up on photobucket at some point.
