Excellent report baggageinhall. Your SQ25 narrative and pics brought back fond memories from our trip last summer.

Thanks. I appear to be following your lead with my next trip being on LH F!

Nice trip report, really enjoyed reading it. I've always wanted to try both SQ and LX F. Another reason nagging me to switch to Star Alliance.

What an obvious omission!

I'll go back and edit the reports, but for the record:

LHR-ZRH : A321
ZRH-JFK : A330-200

JFK-FRA : 747-400
FRA-LHR: A320

I must say baggageinhall I really enjoyed your report, looked like you had a great trip there and back.

You sampled a good selection of the drink on offer, was their anything you missed?

Mouthwash?

Seriously, Mrs BiH expressed a similar sentiment.

Funnily enough, I also did SQ JFK-FRA and LX ZRH-JFK last Oct/Nov in F. I even had the same main course meal selections that you did!

Anyway, I had very similar impressions, except that I ended up preferring LX to SQ. I thought the LX seat was slightly cushier and more comfortable for both sleeping and lounging. Plus, while the service on SQ was very solicitous, it was a bit over the top for me. However, I did prefer my SQ BTC lobster thermidor (which was as good as anything I’ve gotten “on the ground”) to the venison from LX. I remember thinking the appetizers/salad/dessert (and definitely cheese) better on LX though.

I also echo your sentiment about how traveling in F is “ruinous” !

Must ask: what was your favourite course at Per Se? Mine - currently - is their truffle popcorn. Simple but delicious.

LX meals in Y are the worst (so are CO). Surprised that even in F they are not good.

I have been trying to eat Lobster Thermidor on the ground but never found any.
