Hi --

Had a great trip to Panama (Soberania National Park, Panama City, Boquete, and Bocas del Toro): met quite a cast of characters there.

Excellent report, entertaining and engaging writing style. Personally, I have no idea why anyone would spend time birdwatching, but there's no accounting, right? ;)

Your mention of the howler monkey..er..howl was right on. So gutteral. I heard them for the first time in Tikal, Guatemala, and the far off sounds felt like the Dawn of the Dead closing in on my position - a warning of doom.
