Wine

Champagne

Dom Perignon 2005
Dom Perignon has built its reputation on quality and the name today is synonymous with luxury. The 2005 is a beguiling Champagne of depth and complexity. A very small vintage of high quality with a very high percentage of Chardonnay. Has intensity and elegance. The wine's remarkable bouquet reveals itself in waves. Dark brooding berries, coriander and praline. The palate over delivers with great intensity and purity. Structured, focused, firm and dense. An excellent aperitif and a great mathc with a range of food, especially caviar and other seafood.

Dom Perignon Rose 2003
This premium rose champagne is a rare release of exceptional quality, and we're the only airline exclusively able to serve it. We've worked with the Chef de Cuisine at Dom Perignon, Pascal Tingaud, to create a special selection of canapes for you to enjoy with Dom Perignon Rose 2003. The pinot noir grape of this 2003 vintage offers structure, and the rich tannins give it depth. It has a deep colour, with light amber and copper tints. The nose gives a burst of richness with ripe fruit, figs and wild strawberries/ As the wine breathes, this develops into notes of grass, violet and vanilla. Enjoy hints of spice, gradually developing into a signature touch of minerals.

White Wine

La Clarte de Haut-Brion 2011, Pessac-Leognan, France
Two of France's finest white wines, produced in tiny quantities are neighbours Haut Brion and La Mission Haut Brion. La Clarte is the second wine, combining fruit from both properties. Predominantly made up of the powerful Semillon with freshness added from Sauvignon Blanc; the wine ages gracefully in oak barrels for 9 to 12 months before bottling. Complex, fruity and floral aromas such as quince and pear lead to an explosive palate with honey and waxy notes, full bodied throughout, finishing with a salty, mineral taste. A fine aperitif and excellent with a range of seafood dishes.

Pierro Vintage Reserve Chardonnay 2011, Western Australia
Margaret River as a wine region was only established in 1967. Pierro was set up only 12 years after and has since been considered to be one of the finest proponents in Australia of this delicious Burgundian grape variety. The VR is a new edition to the Pierro range, representing only the top barrels from a given vintage, those that really express the Pierro style. Intense aromas of stone fruits, hints of tropical fruit and an intriguing nuttiness lead to an intense and powerful palate of the same, beautifully finessed with plum new oak. The 2011 VR packs a lot of wine into a glass and will pair perfectly with roasted Salmon, roasted chicken and risottos.

Haha Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Marlborough, New Zealand
Haha is a Maori word which means savoury and luscious. Attributes you should find in this delicious Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand. A perfect long hot summer allowed for an early picking with a perfect balance of fruit sweetness to acidity in the grapes. Intensely aromatic with a blend of passion fruit, gooseberries and lime zest on the nose with a soft yet lively palate. A perfect aperitif and also good with an array of starters, grilled fish and even spicy dishes.

Shaw & Smith M3 Chardonnay 2015, Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Shaw & Smith vision is simple. To make exciting, refined wines exclusively from the Adelaide Hills that rank amongst Australia's best. We would go a step further and say they are at the forefront of modern Australia Chardonnay making, creating wines of subtlety and elegance. The 2015 M3 offers up a bouquet of exotic fruit, grapefruit and light, toasted barrel notes which leads to a refined, creamy palate with peach, nectarine and light oak flavours. Perfect with fish and poultry dishes.

Red Wine

Chateau Montrose 2003, Saint Estephe, France
The vineyards of Saint Estephe lie just to the north of the famous Pauillac region. Saint Estephe has no first growth wines but if it had one Montrose would almost certainly be it. 2003 was a hot year in Bordeaux and for many properties too hot, yet Montrose weathered this heat with aplomb thanks to its unique terroir, producing a wine of sheer brilliance and balance. Produced with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Merlot and Cabernet Franc the 2003 is dense with blueberries and blackberries, high notes of licorice and mint. The palate is full with opulence and poise and a sheer pleasure to drink now. Excellent with red meat dishes and hard cheeses.

Jamsheed Seville Syrah 2013, Yarra Valley, Australia
School teacher turned winemaker Gary Mills learnt his craft in France and Australia. Gary sources fruit for his wines from cool climate Victoria regions, uses minimal intervention in the wines and ultimately is looking for balance and finesse over power. Seville, the southernmost region of Yarra Valley is the source of the grapes in this case. Whole bunch fermentation and limited oak use give the wines a freshness not often seen in Australian Shiraz.

Penfolds St. Henri Shiraz 2009, South Australia
St. Henri is a time honoured Shiraz wine from the Penfolds stable made in a traditional style which does not allow the use of new oak barrels. The result is a delicious wine with aromas of summer berries, mulberries, violet and red licorice. The palate is rich and perfectly balanced with layers of satisfying fruit flavours and notes of roasted meat, praline and coffee. A great pairing for roasted and grilled red meat dishes.

Chateau Dassault 2006, Grand Cru Classe, Saint Emilion, France
Situated on sandy soil in Bordeaux's oldest wine region, this property has been improving drastically since being purchased by the famous aircraft manufacturer Dassault. Dark ruby in colour with beautiful aromas of dark fruits, graphite and smoky notes. The silky palate is medium weight with abundant fruit in the form of plum and blackcurrant. A charming wine best served with grilled red meat and stews.

Kilikanoon Covenant Shiraz 2013, Clare Valley, South Australia
Clare Valley, an hour from the better known Barossa produces a more lifted and restrained style of Shiraz. Kilikanoon, voted Winery of the year in 2013 produces some of the finest wines from this region. The deep purple 2013 Covenant Shiraz has an intense and powerful nose of black cherry, with hints of blueberry jam. The palate is full bodied, richly fruited with mulberry, a whiff of chocolate and cinnamon. A great accompaniment to steak and lamb dishes.

Dessert

Chateau Guiraud 2002, Sauternes, France
Chateau Guiraud is one of the 1er Grand Cru Classe chateaux of Sauternes, capable of producing some of the best sweet wines in the world. The 2002 Guiraud is an absolute classic, boasting plenty of botrytis notes. Almond, white flower, orange, pear and citrus zest on the nose, beautiful balance on the palate with green tea and pepper notes. Great length and purity on the finish. The wine was repackaged into the WIne In Tube packaging recently and this marks the first time Emirates serves a wine in this format.

Port

Sandeman 40 Year Old Tawny, Douro, Portugal
This incredible port is a blend of different tawny ports with a minimum age of 40 years. Freshly bottled from the barrel the Sandeman 40 displays beguiling aromas of dried apricot, vanilla and honey. The palate is rich and reminiscent of Christmas with dark raisins, honey and nuts. Delicious with blue cheese and chocolate desserts.

Beverages

Champagnes & Wines

Champagne

2004 Dom Perignon Brut, Champagne, France
Named after Dom Pierre Perignon, the monk and winemaker who is credited with having ďnvented Champagne. Moet et Chandon's Cuvee Dom Perignon is always a vintage wine from 100% Grand Cru vineyards, and is also the most iconic of all Champagnes. Pale gold in colour with aromas of fresh almonds and white summer fruits, both caressing and precise on the palate, it finishes with an expression of utmost elegance.

or

2006 Dom Perignon Brut, Champagne, France
The 2006 vintage continues the Dom Perignon tradition of being an exceptional wine from 100% Grand Cru vineyards. The wine is bright, airy and refreshing on the nose with a floral, fruity tone. On the palate, the wine is succulent with great flavour and has a long finish.

Krug Grande Cuvee
Founded in Reims in 1843, the House of Krug is now managed by the 5th and 6th generations of the Krug family. Rigorous selection and care go into every detail of the multi-vintage Grande Cuvee, which offers a magical combination of aromatic complexity, power and finesse with a long, lingering finish. Krug is the ultimate experience in Champagne.

White Wine

2014 Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Kevin Judd, the wine-maker behind the brilliant, mouth-watering 1985 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, has created his own label. Greywacke - named after the big round stones that cover much of the Marlborough vineyard land. This vintage shows his enthusiasm and passion as the wine bursts with piercing apricot and lychee fruit shot through with the tingly acidity of gooseberry and lime zest.

2012 Louis Jadot Domaine Gagey Bressandes 1er Cru, Beaune, Burgundy, France
Beaune is above all a great red wine vineyard right at the heart of Burgundy, but there are a couple of patches of Premier Cru, tucked high up on the slopes above the town, that produce inspiring whites, and this tiny parcel of Bressandes vines, less than a hectare in size, gives wines of fantastic personality. 2012 is a vintage for dry, classic flavours, ripeness matched by mouthwatering acidity, and Bressandes has a savoury depth of roasted cashew nuts and oatmeal, smoothed by cream.

Red Wine

2009 Louis Latour Chateau Corton-Grancey Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France
2009 was an exceptional vintage in Burgundy with a warm and sunny growing season that resulted in ripe and rich grapes. This wine has a bouquet of red summer fruits with autumnal tones and a touch of black cherry spice, smooth, almost velvety texture on the palate, lovely length of fruit that is robust and elegant on the finish. This flagship wine of Louis Latour has great aging potential.

2013 Clonakilla O'Riada Shiraz, Canberra, Australia
As a small family-owned winery located near Canberra where the climate is cool and in stark contrast to warmer wine regions of Australia, Clonakilla has a impeccable reputation for quality. Very much a modern style, this wine is medium-bodied, with vibrant pepper-spice characters and fruity notes. it is a quintessential "cool climate" Shiraz.

2004 Chateau Leoville-Poyferre Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, France
This splendid estate covering 80 hectares of vines in the best part of the Medoc, was named as a Second Growth in the famous classification of the best Bordeaux wines in 1855 and has retained this high status ever since. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are harvested at their peak of ripeness to make this classic "Bordeaux Blend". Deep carmine-ruby in colour, with fragrantly intense aromas of red and black berries, the rich concentration of fruit on the palate is balanced by an elegantly firm finish. It is eminently suited to white and red meats and of course perfect with cheese.

Port

Dow's 20 Year Old Port, Douro, Portugal
With twenty years of cask aging, this port has acquired a gorgeous aroma of dried flowers, toffee, sweet spices and dried figs. The tannins have softed and evolved into a silky texture with subtle, layered flavours that are persistent on the finish. A beautifully balanced Port that can be enjoyed on its own or with cheese or dessert.

White Wine

2013 Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt Piesporter Goldtropfchen Riesling Spatlese, Mosel, Germany
The Goldtropfchen vineyard in the village of Piesport is one of the most perfect suntraps in all of Germany - and it needs to be because Piesport is in the Mosel valley, where the Riesling grape only ripens when the vineyard is precisely angled to catch whatever sun there is. Goldtropfchen means "little golden drops" - and that's what you get from this south west-facing ampitheatre of vines, soaking up every last ray of summer sun. This beautiful wine isn't dry, but nor is it sweet, because a lovely lemony streak of acidity runs through its lush yet orchard-fresh compote of peach and apple and glistening Williams pear fruit.

2012 Kooyoung Chardonnay, Mornington Peninsula, Australia
The cool maritime climate of the Mornington Peninsula south of Melbourne is particularly well suited to growing chardonnay of exceptional quality. Made by highly acclaimed winemaker Sandro Mosele, this wine successfully combines freshness with complexity and is a fine example of the new wave of Australian Chardonnay that is attracting so much international attention.

2007 Chateau Pichon-Longueville, Comtesse de Lalande, Pauillac, France
The larger of the two Pichon-Longueville estates, whose splendid 19th century chateaux face each other as one approaches the town of Pauillac, is known for the suppleness of its wines, due partly to the high proportion of very old Merlot vines. Part of the vineyard runs alongside that of First Growth Chateau Latour and a larger part border on the appellation Saint-Julien to the south, to provide the exceptional elegance in every vintage. The 2007 vintage already shows aromas of black summer fruits, natural rich flavours on the palate and a fine, dry finish.
