Flights To Haiti
Well, it looks like American Airlines still remains the best choice. Air France does have a flight four times per week from MIA TO PAP. (AF) Air Caraibes (TX) also has flights from SDQ at certain times of the week. Recently, Spirit Airlines has added flight to PAP from FLL. The days of Air Jamaica (JM) flying to Haiti, Haiti Trans Air (X4), HanAir (8F) are long over. Even ALM Airlines (LM) is gone for good. A new airline, however, through Curacao, Insel Airlines (7I) is flying to PAP from CUR and SXM.
Our flight began in SYR through CLT to MIA on US. Then it was the transfer to AA, MIA to PAP. The flight went amazingly well, just why do people on flights to Haiti have such a difficult time finding their seat and remaining in it until we take off. No wonder, PAP flights are always late in both directions. Landing at PAP is, as always, quite chaotic. It is probably not much different than landing in any third world country. After clearing customs and retrieving luggage, any traveler will find swarms of people wanting to help you with your luggage, a firm NO is the best way to handle that. Hopefully, one day soon, more airlines will begin flying to Haiti and tourism will again return to this country. :-: |
