Inaugural DL JFK-PSA and back, with pix

Mrs. Gargoyle and I enjoyed the inaugural flight from New York to Pisa, Italy. I've posted a full report of our trip in B/E, with lots of pix, on my site, and I'm including a couple photos here to peak your interest. This is the first transatlantic direct scheduled service into Tuscany. http://stonecarver.com/flyertalk/DL-..._accordion.jpg Mrs. Gargoyle and the accordionist at the send-off party |
Thanks so much for your wonderful, detailed report, Gargoyle! The inaugural festivities look like they were lots of fun.

A fantastic report! I'd like to fly an inaugural someday - it looks fun (especially in int'l C).:D

Thanks for the report. I enjoyed learning about you as much as I did your trip. :)

Fantastic report. Thanks for the info. I frequently cruise Europe on Royal Caribbean and haven't ever thought about them dispatching a ship from PSA. I think it could be an interesting idea (and good business for DL).
Any idea what the cargo loads would be like? |

Very detailed indeed Gargoyle! It's great to see DL expanding to more and more transatlantic destinations untouched by other US carriers. You're totally right about their RJ operation at gate 23...it IS an embarrassment to Delta and it's JFK operation. Hopefully ORD will upgraded to at least an E170 as opposed to a CRJ. BE looks great...sounds like it's going no place but uphill from here!!^

Great report. Now I want to go there. Thanks for sharing your trip and photos with everyone.
