Well, many many thanks to everybody who not only took the time to read this report but also left such complimentary remarks. After posting this report I headed off on the same day to TLS for the Do there. I had no internet access while away and was delighted to discover upon my return yesterday that it had been received so well.

It is great to see some of my regular readers enjoyed this thread, some of which I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting in person around the world!!! As well, of course, as many less familiar handles perhaps from boards that I do not regularly frequent. A big hello to you all!

I very much doubt that my view of him will change but I may regret my lack of response to his behaviour. To be honest, I am somewhat reluctant to read your New Zealand South Island report. Thing is that I redeemed miles for me and my wife to journey to New Zealand on what was our finest trip together in First courtesy of Lufthansa, Thai, Singapore and Air New Zealand but opted for the North Island before doing my research. I am still quite upset that I made the wrong choice and it may well be some time before I could take a look at what I could have won! I trust that you had a fantastic time though!

Wow, what an absolutely fantastic trip report!:) ^ The pictures and commentary were excellent as always, and I hope to see many more! Happy to see that you got to meet up with dcgators. He's a great guy!:)

Thanks lucky! It is worth mentioning that he too speaks highly of you!

I have really enjoyed meeting the handful of FTers that I have meet on my travels and refer specifically to dcgators on this trip and the mini-do in the SGS BKK with Seattle1K, schoflyer and KenF back in December. Perhaps next time I may actively seek to arrange a mini-Do myself. Anybody in HKG or DPS in late August?

Haven't looked there and still following Seat2a s report I did not notice there ist another very informative trip report.

I have flown NRT - TPE in C back in 2004 on a UA 747-400 and at this time Taipei101 was still under construction. I definitively will visit Taipei again in the near future.

Also nice to read about the flights. And yes reading your report is not a five minutes task, it was my whole lunch breack and some minutes more :D.

It was nice to meet you again in TLS

I had feared that I so looking forward to the NH F flight on their 77W so much that the actually event would be something of a disappointment. I can assure you that it was not and thoroughly enjoyed every second that I spent on board. The crew were good but I had expected that they would be similar in standard to the SQ girls and they were not. I had on occasions given up waiting for a top up of my drink and had to call over an FA or go to the galley myself. Even more surprisingly, in this regard the NH service fell below that experienced onboard United First Class. In reality this is a very minor gripe as the rest of the experience was so good it did not significantly spoil the overall onboard experience.

Quite an interesting observation, given I have had nothing but exceptional service onboard NH. However, not completely surprising given the superior service and quality of FAs aboard United's intra-Asia flights.

This has been a tremendous report TEX277. It's paced astutely, well observant, concise, and truly enjoyable to read. That bowl of soup you had in Taipei looked quite funky, but hmmm, I'm sure it was good ;).

Just finished the entire TR myself. Very well written and an excellent experience to be sure! ^

I was particularly to pleased to hear of your positive experience in UA F. Intra-Asia, UA is certainly tops.

Absolutely fantastic! Not only have I read the entire TR, I've read it twice.
The photos are super also.
