May I suggest that the handle of each photographer is removed from the list? Just so as to ensure equal fairness, and no unintended bias.

If I could think of a way to make the contest totally blind I would do that. Short of having people e-mail me the photographs to be posted I could not think of a practicable way to hide who publshed which image.

The reason I decided to arrange the images by number at the PBase site was to at least make the comparison process itself a blind one, even though there is nothing to stop people from referring back to the posting thread if they want to do that.

PBase itself has a voting system that works quite well, but I could not think of a way to limiting that to only FlyerTalker participation.

In the end, I think the relatively low stakes in the contest does more to keep the voting fair than anything.

Still, if people feel strongly about the names being listed, I can remove them.

There are so many good pictures. In the end, I go for the ones which are ethereal, and draw me back and back again.

46 - fascinated by the transition from the amorphous clouds to the clarity of the water

48 - stunning, with all the forms of water from lake to pools to snow, on the ground and on the trees

64 - think Georgia O'Keefe in ice - spectacular

This is tough, all of these pictures are amazing..
I think all of them are well composed so my picks are based on the content.
Something I would have photographed.

Since I can only vote for 3, here are my votes:

14: I like old structures... the reflection in water is amazing.

35: I'm biased. I like Jenny lake and I think its one of the most spectacular lake out there.

18: Just like it.

My picks- 049, 067, 070

049- Something about this scene captures my gaze for several seconds each time I look at it.
067- Shot in Sepia mode at the camera (E950.) It just seemed right for this shot.
070- The framing of the tree and bird and the colors are all great!

As a novice... It's hard to judge!
I'm gonna catch hell for not lending my vote to 004, but I was there and don't need to see it any more!

18 = superb, soft colours
32 = funny shot
50 = really wet
