Very nice report so far, thanks a lot. I am looking forward to reading the rest of it. Muscat is on my list of places I want to visit, thinking that it might be more "authentic" still than Dubai.

Well I feel a bit guilty because both times I've been to Muscat I've "hidden" in the hotel and not gone and seen the place. However, just from driving in from the airport and from what I've seen and read, you can rest assured that it is very definitely "more authentic" than Dubai!

Nicely constructed trip, Phil - looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. When my travel patterns get back to normal again, I'm hoping to be able to branch out a bit and sample a wider range of carriers.

Also, like airoli, I definitely have Muscat on my list.

Happy travels

I've just updated again. The last couple of days including today's BKK-PEK on TG F. Oh boy, what a wonderful flight! I hope my report does it justice!

OK, I've just completed another update. A couple of days in Beijing and information on the Intercontinental Beijing!

Wow, I am impressed, by both your trip and - again - the homepage. ^ ^

The Gulf Air First Class seems not to be that bad, if you are lucky and get the new First Class. The room in the Hyatt in Muscat looks a bit cold for my impression, but I might be wrong. At least they have some oriental touch in the rooms. The IC in Bangkok is one of the IC’s I would like to try, too. Especially since the location is not that bad for Hotelhopping with “my” other chains . The IC Beijing is outstanding, the only minus I can see, is the international interior, no local – Chinese – interior design. The Club Lounge lounge looks really nice, though the Chinese touch is missing again.

Thanks by the way for the pictures of the TG First Class Lounge, I hope to be there in May.

And I, too, have Muscat on the list – in fact your trip and the routing looks similar to places I would like to go in the near future. Beside Muscat, I have Beijing on my list for this or the next year.

I wish you all the best for the rest of your trip

Jan
P.S. The youtube feature is nice, I am currently doing / planning a redesign of my own webpage and your page was again a good source . Perhaps I will contact you after your return by PM.
