welcome to ft and great pics (arguably nice enough to save the rest of the us the hassel of touting our own cameras about).

btw, don't be surprised if your thread gets moved to the "trip reports" forum.

Welcome to FT, toscanafoto. I'm going to move your thread to Trip Reports. Folks who wish to look at these lovely photos should do so on that forum.

Fantastic pictures. I'm thinking about going from Shanghai to Xian since the flights appear cheap. You think 1 day is enough there? my main goal is to see the terra cotta soldiers. Can you get around OK w/o speaking mandarin?

Agreed. One day is needed to visit the site so two days must be planned for arriavl/departure.

I don't speak mandarin and travelled on my own. It is sometimes not that easy in China to find somebody who speaks english. in short: Yes, you can get around OK w/o speaking mandarin.

To see the terracotta warriors, yes. However, there is far more to do in Xi'an. We were there for 10 days last year and still didn't come close to exhausting the interesting things to see and do in that city.

Welcome to FT and thank you for sharing the awesome photos!! ^

It is neat to see how beautiful the night sklyine is in other countries' cities (as opposed to the US's cities, which seem rather bland, after viewing those pictures).
