First flight AA Expedia First Class 23 jul

Ok, well iam not sure if i was ther FIRST person to take advantage of the Expedia First class fare on Sun 23rd july, the Flight was Very pleaseant and I would rate it as simular as a GOOD BA Club World experience.

Sun 23rd july 2006, I arrived early at LHR and used the First class check-in desk.
Agent was Polish and quite pleasant, Initially she would not allow me to check-in as I had a one-way tkt.

I said I would go and purchase a return portion and booked a one way Pre-econ on VS.( I was usuing a friends buddy pass to return)
On returning to the check-in I was greeted warmly again and check-in proceeded as normal.

Fast track was quick and AA Lounge was usual average standard.

Also used the Biz class lounge to get better views of aircraft.

CX lounge didnt open until 9-15 am,
had SSS on my boarding pass, no problem this entailed just a gate check of my hand luggage.

Boarded and found my seat 4A, offered choice of drink, cabin full and Crew welcomed me by my first name.

Purser Linda and her Senior crew member were FABULOUS, really made me feel welcome.
Crew were really interested in what I did, as I gave them my Flight log book for Cocokpit crew to fill in details of date/aircraft/reg/miles etc etc and its pretty full already.

Flight time was 9hrs and 5 mins, seat was VERY comfortable (not the coffin), food was acceptable, but not FIRST class by any standard.

Flight was smooth and service very attentive and very American (whud u wan Hun) lolololololo, Ive never experienced that relaxed manner in a premium cabin, at first I was quite surprised.

I have four more AA Firsts to get used to it though :D

I have West coast flights and East coast flights to make my mind up about AA.Lets see how Good they can be consistantly?????????????

HOW CAN I ADD SOME PICS ????????????????????[I][U]

Welcome to the world of AA....if those are domestic US flights you have upcoming, I think you may be dissapointed after the FS F service.

Interesting that they wouldn't let you checkin without a return ticket. I got in on the deal and will probably fly Maxjet over and am not anticipating any problems flying either airline on o/w tickets.

I've found the Int'l F class service to vary from professional & polished to relaxed and casual. I just try to go with the flow.

Enjoy your remaining 4 trips!

I think they won't let you check in on a one-way ticket unless you are a US Citizen or Perm Resident - USCIS restriction I would guess.

Yes, I've had this before. Returning to the US from the UK on the final segment of a seperately booked EWR-GLA-EWR on CO, checkin at GLA demanded to see a return booking so I had to go to the BA desk to print out a receipt for my JFK-LHR booked for a month later.

Weird. I checked in for one way LHR-IAD last September with no problems. I did have a K-1 fiancee visa in my British passport but it was never checked and I didn't intend to enter on it. My return was on the same airline on a separate itinerary, maybe they could tell that...

Travellers with Visa's wont have problems travelling on Oneway tkts.

Ive Cancelled my Three further trips, and in hindsight a GOOD idea after today!
I only had hand luggage on my trip(two bags) and breezed through customs on US side.

All those biz travellers are going to be so annoyed now.
