Refused flight

Hi!
Just before christmas me an my girlfriend were reused the vaccation flight to Bangkok from Wienna. This was the last step of the tripp wich started in Munich.
We had recieved boardingpasses for the flight , but the staff of Austrian took the descion to deny us because they said it was to cheap.
We had bought the tickets from Skytours and they were issued by Austrian.
According to the Staff of Austrian the tickets were incorrect and the price was to cheap ( 1600 Euro) for both.
Our vaccation was allready planned and paid so we had to buy new ticketts on scene 10 minuts before departure for 2300 Euro.
We were suffering of this the entire vaccation and ar now in a dispute with Austrian airlines and the travelagency Skytours.
Skytours say its a breach of contract and that the ticketts were valid. However as a person you are and feel a little helpless.
Has anybody experianced this before and what to do ????
Any help is much welcome!
Sincerely
Mattias , Petra.

Wow. Pretty short trip report... :(

I had a similar situation with UA. The first thing I'd do is speak to a supervisor in OS and get a verbal explanation as to the problem with the original tickets, and insist on this in writing.

get Skytours to put their position in writing.

Then, I'd dispute the charges on your credit card, asking Visa/MC to hold the 2nd payment to OS until the matter has been sorted out, so you don't have to carry the credit burden of two sets of tickets.

Then start throwing shapes demanding that both Skytours and OS talk to each other and sort this out, ot that you will sue both in the relevant small claims court/consumer arbitration system in Austria.

I'd be looking for some hefty vouchers form OS for the trouble also.

Please post the inflight menu. That's all I care about.

Matias and Petra--you are crossposting this (a no-no) in the wrong forums! :td:

This is relevant and important information for all travellers

Surely this is entirely reasonable forum for this sort of problem? Shoving the post into an area seen only by FT members interested in one family of airlines will deny the rest of us (who may not look in that forum very often) from hearing about what happened next?

The outcome is important to all of us who travel; it sounds like a very unpleasant thing to happen to anyone, and I for one would like to know what the OP should do, and how to avoid it in future. Does this happen on other airlines? What is other people's experience? How have they resolved it?

Techno

PS The entire internet works by having cross-linked information - what's so awful about doing it on Flyertalk?

I don't care about the outcome. I just want to see the in-flight menu.
