Great Experience on B6

This past weekend, I flew JFK-ROC-JFK (2/17-2/20) to visit my sister at college. Jetblue really knows how to treat their cutsomers. I was booked for the 8:05pm flight on Thursday, and I wanted to rush to JFK to get on the 5:10. Well, I made it but barely. I got to the airport at 5pm!!!!!! The ticketing agent wished me good luck as I ran to the security line. The line was very long, the longest I have ever seen. I saw a customer service rep walk by and I said that I was on a 5:10 flight and I am going to miss it. She took me through, and I cut the whole line; she brought me right to the front. I went through security, and I got to the gate (gate 9! :) ;) , didn't have to run,) and it turned out that the flight was running 10 minutes late because of crew. I was on standby, and ended up being the last on the aircraft (N537JB). The flight was great.

Coming back was even better. I got to the airport ontime, and in comes "Blueflight Special" (N586JB.) I was excited because I wanted to see if it had the 36 channels. Coming up to ROC, I only had 24. It did have the 36. I actually got up to channel 41. The flight crew were really nice and funny, the flight attendant made all the typical jokes in the safety announcement. Although Delta is my favorite, Jetblue is definetly getting up there on my list. ^

Anyone else experience anything similar with Jetblue's great customer service??

Yes. I took JetBlue from LGB to IAD last year, and knowing that Long Beach is a small airport I slept in and arrived about 30 minutes prior to my 6-something a.m. flight, thinking there wouldn't be any delays in returning my rental car, checking in, or proceeding through security.

Unfortunately, I got the SSSS on my boarding pass this time (as I always seem to do when flying a low-cost carrier). Not only did I have to go through a bag search and patdown, my laptop computer somehow tested positive for explosive residue. The whole TSA haraSSSSment process took almost the entire half hour, and I was worried I'd miss my flight. In the meantime, the gate agent kept announcing over the PA, "passenger Wahooflyer please report to gate x for an immediate departure to Washington Dulles," but there was nothing I could do.

While I was waiting for TSA to rescreen my laptop, a JetBlue customer service supervisor walked over and told me she'd hold the flight for me. She even helped carry one of my bags and escorted me onto the tarmac, up the stairs, and on the aircraft.

I was very impressed by her excellent customer service skills, and wrote a letter to JetBlue to commend her.

If JetBlue had a more meaningful frequent flyer program with elite status and international award travel, I might fly them again. JetBlue's in-flight experience is great for the occasional flyer, but I fly 170,000 miles per year and expect more for my loyalty than a couple of free tickets to Buffalo and blue chips. The employees at B6 all seem to enjoy their jobs and care about their customers, which is great. But US Airways and American Airlines employees have gone beyond the call of duty for me in many instances as well, and with the legacy carriers matching the LCC's fares, I have no reason to fly JetBlue.

I agree, so far I have only done LGB-OAK on B6, perfectly good service and such. However, TrueBlueGratitude is not getting me to EZE in Biz Class in a couple of weeks in J on miles.

As for 24 channels or 36 channels of DirecTV ... 12 channels one way or the other does not a great flight make.
