Alan, you forgot to add that your cell phone works in Hong Kong! was a great report... no holds barred! I'm definately doing a run on MH in the spring, right after I stop by BCN!

Oh... and on another note... I have to add, I'm a dumba$$ and left my digital camera in the AF Lounge in BCN, but a VERY helpful FlyerTalker is helping me get it back... mucho gracias senior Alan!!

alanw - you bad boy. How you toy with me. I'll have to write up a trip report for everyone once I'm back. Polyester should not be allowed on anyone, let along the middle-aged. Howl.

Jesus that was hilarious...I wish I could be so clever! Great report. I'm in my cubicle laughing out loud at it still. I have done the KLM & NW business multiple times and have a MH first from EWR to MEL that's about 8 months overdue (I took good notes) and next summer I get to do AF biz from ORD so I'll see if I agree with your assessments, but so far I do. However I'm just a demure boy from Wisconsin so when the dragons and witches treat me badly I think I deserve it ;)

I just got off KL605 yesterday. I found the seats to be FAR better than NW's new seats. It's geared entirely different, with a definite, nice, 'reclined' position where the seatbottom tilts back and you feel...well...reclined. And the IFE is, well, kick-....

On top of it, we won the lottery and actually had a happy, smiling crew. I was planning on writing a complimentary letter to KLM, but I am afraid it will cause those non-conformists that worked the flight to be sent to the gulag to learn the proper KL service attitude!

Wouldn't know about NW's new seats, but I just got off KL598 yesterday and found the seats a lot worse than KL's WBC seats in the MD11 and 747. The latter may be old, have mechanical controls, and a recline of only 160°, but at least they are wide and comfortable. The "lie flat" seats in the 777 should be called "slippery slope" seats instead. The 777 WBC cabin is best described as a missed opportunity.

Yes, as long as it works. Only experienced three failures on my flight.

I must be very lucky then, as I apparently win the lottery more than nine times out of ten when I fly KL.
