Alaska Airlines - ugh

Flew SJC-SEA on Monday - flight was delayed for 2.5 hrs because of a missing fusebox cover in the cockpit. Where the heck did it go - it can't fall off the plane- perhaps the captain took it home without realizing?! So they had to courier a cover over from OAK to SJC during rush hour. I figure that they should keep a couple spare fusebox covers just in case a pilot snags one again...

Then on the return, we board a flight and sit on the tarmac for 90 minutes while they are working on a minor problem - air conditioning warning light was coming on, even though the A/C was working. Then while fixing the problem, another problem arose. Had to deplane and get bumped to the flight that got me in 2.5 hrs after my originally scheduled landing.

Hopefully they can improve their process to fix problems like these more efficiently, while maintaining proper safety. I feel they fell short on this one. Free drinks would have been nice....but alas, they are no Southwest. :p

Sorry to hear of your experience. Personally, I haven't had any problems with delays using AS. That said, parts of the aircraft aren't supposed to go "missing"...hopefully there is more to that story...

Alaska customer service is generally pretty good with providing compensation for delayed flights, so you might write to them and see if they'll give you a discount off future travel.
