Another Masterpiece
Bravo Seat 2A, I was about to hit the sack, when I spied your new TR. Instead I've stayed up half the night reading your latest opus, as you posted it.
I'm going to be tired at work tomorow, but it was worth it!
You really know how to travel, but also know how to write about it as well.
Thanks again!

And finally...
Thanks, everyone, for your patience in getting through this Trip Report. It's the first one I've posted under the new FlyerTalk system and the 10,000 character limit per post made it quite a long afternoon of work to get this all posted.
As for the Cathay Pacific and ViaRail pictures, please bear with me. I'll try to have everything out within the week. Internet connections are slower than I thought here in Namibia. As it is, it's gonna cost me about $30.00 just to post this report and some of the pictures. But what the heck - I've blown more than that on a good night out!
This round's on me!

Elton,
I feel any compliment I give wouldn't be even close to good enough to grace this report so I shall just make a few comments.
- It's just not fair, I did the LHR-LAX run twice with UA in coach and although I may have had more legroom then you as I was in 30A/J right be Door 3L or R, my experiance is closer to a ride on the BART then to a Trans-Atlantic Flight.
- American and United still have pistashio nuts in their warm mixed nut offerings and United has them in its Premium Snack Mix.
- Thanks for your postcard, it was a big suprise and it took me a minute to find out who it was from as I don't know anyone else who even knows where Tasmania is let alone is there and knows my address!

Another excellent Trip Report
Seat 2A, :-:
Wow, Elton! What a excellent trip report! ^ ^ Your menu transcripts makes me feel really hungry. Perhaps one day, I can have the time (and money) to make a trip like yours. You did really insipred me to get out there and see the world.
Again, thanks for your trip report!

I began (!) to read it yesterday and will continue reading today.

Another outstanding report from the master of them. Please remember that PDX does have beer available, I'll buy.
Are you sure that you really want to go back to Denali rather than flying the world and providing us with reports?? ^ ^

Great report!! I'm so jealous of all the FC Cathay Pacific and BA flying since I can't seem to get enough miles for anything other than Biz. Also, would LOVE to hear more about Namibia since it's on my list of next places to go in Africa.

Hi Seat 2A!
I've just spent the last couple of hours (!) reading this awesome account of an equally awesome trip. It brought back many memories of my own recent experiences in BA and CX F. I assume this won't be your last time in CX First, then
You certainly know how to put together a complex itinerary that packs as much of the good life as possible into a relatively short period ^^^

The best trip report yet written!!
I really enjoyed reading this one, those amazing flights in quick succession.
I can't wait to hear about the trip down the garden route.
Keep up the good work, you really make FT Trip Reports a very special place.

Congratulations!
I was particularly interested in your SA travels, as I know and love that country well.
On kulula.com, it is no surprise that they use the BA check-in as both the low-cost airline and the local BA franchise are owned by Comair. They seem to be following the strategy (abandoned by most European airlines) of competing with their own full-service operation. Not sure where they're going with this strategy.....

I also want to add my thanks. Speaking as someone who makes his living as a writer, you really should be writing professionally.
And I want to read your guidebook to Denali when you write it. It would probably be the classic reference text on the area for the next fifty years.
By the way, if your routing back to Alaska (or on one of your future trips) brings you via DC, it's my shout.
(edited because I'm spoiled by spellcheck and I made a typo)
