I like the bedroom with no windows but with the "anteroom". Would seem to help cut down on noise and light while sleeping but give you a relaxing daytime option.

Heiderad Dresden
For the evenings, I naturally consulted the Michelin Guide. There are four Michelin-starred restaurants in and around Dresden, one of which is Heiderand. That was to be the first meal.

Meissen is about half an hour’s drive from Dresden. The name Meissen is closely associated with the porcelain manufactory, and that is where we started the day.

The manufactory has created a visitor centre featuring a shop, a museum and a demonstration workshop. The entrance to the shop – I didn’t take any photos there, though. Dom Meissen
As I mentioned earlier, there is much more to discover in Meissen than just the porcelain factory. Next, we headed up to the Domberg to visit the cathedral.

That is why the cathedrals here are unique in that they are Protestant and, in essence, are just ordinary parish churches. Albrechtsburg Meissen
Right next to the cathedral stands Albrechtsburg Castle. It is best known as the first production site for Meissen porcelain. It was built there for security reasons. Later, the castle was decorated with historical paintings, and during the Second World War it served as a secure storage facility.

The Kulturplast is a relic of the GDR era. As a sort of decoration, a beautiful mosaic has been affixed to the outside, featuring the most ridiculous slogans the SED crooks could come up with.
