Considering what was going on in Milan last Monday your trip went definitely smooth. The general strike and demos for Gaza all around Italian cities were announced since several days before, in the afternoon around Stazione centrale clashes between part of the mob and police went out of control, with some small groups able to reach the atrium of the station and devastate part of it. In the morning due to heavy rain the north part of Milan near the river Seveso (an effluent of Como lake) went under water, students of a local school had to be evacuated using amphibian trucks.

So, the next hour was rather boring. I just walked around. As I'm familiar with this part of the city, so it was a form of killing the time. But still, some nice views.

The bus trip was rather efficient. Of course, slower than M4, but still absolutely OK.
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...bb8329886.jpeg Fast track was efficient, except the secondary check due to vinegar (mentioned earlier). Time for the lounge. It's quite a walk to reach it. I have about 90 minutes to spend there. I asked, no showers. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...46e8cadba.jpeg This time I opted for a chair with table. The chair is quite wide, so you have space for everything. Power port is available under the table, wifi is fast. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d54db3225.jpeg Foodwise, the selection looks basic, but is sufficient. For sure, you will find something. Of course, it would be better to have a hot dish, but of course. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...1c2a0afbe.jpeg The best part is barista coffee station in cooperation with Illy, and the drink bar, with Campari. So, https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f74184e76.jpeg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...964aefddb.jpeg The Spritz was very drinkable. Time for a snack https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...bbdb83543.jpeg And, of course, a Negroni to conclude my stay. Also very enjoyable. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...6e709f937.jpeg Time to head to the gate. Wait, no bus gate?! What on Earth? https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...391d4ebb1.jpeg |
After a delay it's time to finish this TR with 2 last posts.
Yes, we had no bus gate, but unfortunately we had the boarding-not-boarding for about 25 minutes. Flight was uneventful, but overall we had about 35 minutes of delay, and I need to transfer from G to K/L, so my connection went from really relaxed to just fine. Quick shopping (supplies of Negroni and some sweets), and to the Senator lounge. Menu was rather simple - Leberkase, glazed chicken and some potato-based something. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...6fb6500a2.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5964e571e.jpeg Also, the soup with some form of tasty dumpling was very interesting. I hoped for a Spaten beer (Oktoberfest time!), but unfortunately it was out. So, I tired this new gin, and had a G&T. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5c6cb40e0.jpeg Due to shortened connection time I had only about 25 minutes in the lounge, so unfortunately there was no time for shower. I was quite full at this point, but it turned out that this will not be the end of eating for today. |
The last part of this short trip would be a flight to Warsaw. I was quite full after a dinner in the lounge, and quite tired at this time, so I had some idea to have a nap. But, Lufthansa decided to surprise me. Flight was announced as completely full, and they asked to check bags, if anyone wanted to do so. As you may guess, almost no-one wanted. So, group 2 was announced, and I head to the gate, to get my 4A seat. Not-that-loud beep, as "your seat is changed". Wrrr, but than I looked at this tiny piece of paper
https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...cd46b9640.jpeg Yes, 1D, business class. My 2nd op-up during my trips. OK, so I will have to report the meal ;) PDB was offered by the purser, sparkling water or sparkling wine. I went with wine. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...59b7880a5.jpeg Shortly after take-off the meal was offered. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3acf21a7f.jpeg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3eb0e2b9c.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5a0429900.jpeg Quite small (I skipped the bread, as I was rather full), but tasty. Spreads were really nice, and the infused butter was really interesting thing. Even the Avionic had some Oktoberfest-themed motive https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...030daddab.jpeg One or two wines later we were on time in Warsaw. Quick rush to get an Uber before the lines will be longer and, finally, home. Good 17 hours after leaving in the morning. It was a tough day, but interesting way to have such a trip. Unfortunately, almost for sure, I will have to take another one, this time to Paris, in about a month or so. |

That is a completely potato-free Serviettenknödel dumpling, made from dried bread rolls.
