Boarding started after about a ten minute wait and I am in 14D, exit row, Aisle. As is quite often the case, the crew member was standing in my seat space and I jokingly apologised for having to evict her.
Now, colour me highly impressed, she said “Not a problem Mr JapesUK”, you could have knocked me down with a feather! Into my seat which is clean and comfortable and seems pretty new . |

Offer him a tissue, it's the best way to tell someone they're annoying you with their sniffling.

Push back started at 13:48 and after the standard safety briefing was had arrived at the runway and in the air exactly at 2pm local.
Unusually for me, a quick ‘view of the loo’ which impressed me as even the smaller of the two seen here on the right had sufficient headroom for me to stand up in, unlike the BA A320s which are a contortion every time. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...efc65386b.jpeg Around twenty minute in to the flight the purser arrived with some treats and bubbly goodies, I could get used to this :D. The cheesy biscuits were excellent. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...c3f4a98f6.jpeg A little later the economy service started. A choice of chicken or cheese sandwich, a choice of alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks, and a little pack of decent biscuits all put BAs horrendous economy offering to shame. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...b33867b76.jpeg The rest of the flight I spent reading and snoozing until the pilots announcement at 15:05 that we were descending and the cabin crew announcement immediately thereafter that we expected to land in around 35 minutes. Ten minutes later the seatbelt lights came on as we had a bit of a bumpy and shaky patch on the way down but it all smoothed out once we were below the clouds. A really good first experience in AF Y, I can happily fly this. Be interesting to see how CDG-BHX stacks up against it. On the ground at 15:40 and now trundling around the airport to the gate, so pretty much an on time arrival |
I am confused and please feel free not to answer if this is personal... why a dentist in Bucharest? I thought you lived in England.

It's been answered in one of the previous threads, there was a lot of dental work and basically it works out as a price of a cheap dentist in the UK but with quality of an expensive dentist in the UK.

The trip to the K gates was not too bad, in the order of 20 minutes which gave me just enough time for a very very brief trip to the lounge.
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...750c66d12.jpeg No other photos as it was a super speedy visit, literally had time to eat that and just left again to head to my gate |

Delivered to AF in October 24, so new indeed!

Down the escalator to gate 23 so we are on the buses today. A red beep signalled the third boarding pass of the day as they’ve changed the plane yet again. Another tick for AF, they don’t just give you the same seat number, if you’re in an exit they move you to the exit on the new one.
Its taking an age to load everyone on the bus, looks like a lot of people wandering on with paper boarding passes. |

As an aside, there are literally dozens of border police roaming around spot-checking people, I’ve not seen that before

Looks tasty, was it? Certainly better than KLM lounges!

We have been bussed out to a pier that consists of jet bridges that are accessed by slippery metal stairs, good job it’s not raining… oh, wait! :). Some very grumpy passengers behind me starting a chorus of “it’s BS” “it’s total BS”. I guess they’re less than pleased 🤣
Across the aisle in 14C for this trip on another new A220-300 F-HPNP commissioned in December No point in photos as it’s all identical. 17:43 and we are trundling along the taxiways. Next Stop: Birmingham by 6pm hopefully |
